hallow, am writing to share a challenge i experience with verbosity for punctuations.
whenever I move between stable and unstable internet, or update my IOS the voice over becomes verbose; it reads every punctuation even when I have selected the type of verbosity I prefer.
i have tried switching between some punctuations to none options but nothing is happening to remedy this situation.
I have also resorted to shutting down my phone and switching it nback on but nothing seems to stop the voice over in my I-phone 11 from mensioning every punctuation.
currently am using IOS 17.1.2.
please help.

Almost certainly not this...
But do you have any activities set up that might be changing it? I don't use them much on the iphone but I think they persist if you change apps. I would think it would go back to default on reboot but I don't know.
Seems unlikely but thought I'd mention it just in case you were messing around with them and left something there.

there is a default activity since iOS 14 and it is most certainly causing your issue. go to settings>accessibility>VoiceOver>activities. programming is listed. flick down to delete. double-tap. presto, fixt!
