issue with Alexa on iPhone

I sometimes use the type to Alexa feature when I want to use a skill, (okay I sneak and play a game at work sometimes). However, now when I tap the Alexa button, I'm lucky if it works at all, never mind I can't find the type with Alexa feature any more. Is anyone else having this issue? Or, is there something I'm missing?

The thing I usually do in such cases is to force stop the Alexa app. This method is particularly useful if you have many apps running in the background, as they might interfere with each other. Close all apps on your iPhone, wait a few seconds, and then reopen the Alexa app. This should resolve any minor bugs and get the app running smoothly again.

The article at https://www.igeeksblog.com/alexa-app-not-working-on-iphone/ can guide you through the process.

P.S. I'd also suggest to check which version of the app you use. Make sure you use the latest one.

Low and behold, I re-installed the app, and it works. I thought they had changed the app, because I had only 3 tabs at the bottom instead of 5, and I had heard other people, not necessarily blind, saying there were issues. That led me to believe the app was to blame. Nope, evidently it was a bad update. I am happily typing with Alexa again.

What game? I like playing knight manager. I do not like getting my ass kicked by better higher sword wielding players that i have no idea how my guy can have a fireball skill level two, and still get burned by level one. Like how? lol.

The subject says it all. Now, on both platforms, the Alexa app has reverted to the three tab on the bottom set-up, and typing with Alexa is next to impossible. I am not amused!

On another note, the game I'm trying to play is Knight Manager. So much for sneaking in tower climbing during my breaks.

I know it's a pain but you just have to reinstall it every time you want to type. I play knight manager as well.

I also have to reinstall the app to get the type to Alexa to work. Sometimes it'll work if I leave the app in the app switcher, but that's not even guaranteed to work.

This reinstalling of the app is only a temporary fix. The new layout is here to stay. I recently read an article about this new layout. They say it's a new design of the app. This tells me that eventually reinstalling will not work. This new layout is not very accessible. I hope they fix it.
