Accessibility Comments

the game is fully accessible and works great with voiceover. the only things you must pay attention are:
while dragging a card to the discard pile or playing field, make sure you do it in a vertical starting movement, so drag it just a little bit upward or downward until voiceover says - dragging card.
also when viewing the map, after winning some fights you'll have to scroll the map up and down to view expand it. just use the three finger swipe up and down like scrolling text.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

this game is fun, replayable, and will be expanded with much more content in the future. the future content will be a paid dlc, but the base game is free and you'll enjoy it for weeks to come.

Is this release with the Accessibility patch?

By Jonathan Candler on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 - 22:41

Yep it sure is.

I have been waiting for a decently accessible CCG title for a while. I only have 2 tiny complaints.

1. I have to disable Haptics for this game. The explore by touch haptics are a distraction for me.
and
2. While the VO interaction is really good, I wish either the game had its own controls/built-in TTS, or that VO had some app exclusive actions.

Otherwise, this is a pretty solid game, and well done on the accessibility front. 😎👌🏼

Hi, this seems like a really good game however I am struggling on how to play this game how to start and also how to move the cards

By KE8UPE on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 - 22:41

Hi,
In the post above, the acronym DLC was referenced.
I’ve never heard of this. What does it stand for?

By Zoe Victoria on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 - 22:41

That's what it stands for.

To move cards. Navigate across the game screen in whatever way you are comfortable with. Personally, I switch to Landscape view, and play with my thumbs.
Once you are on one of your cards, you can move it as follows:

1. Double tap and hold on a playable card, then slowly move your finger up to drop the card onto the "play area". This is the main action to 'play' a card.
2. Double tap and hold on a playable card, then slowly move your finger down to the 'discard' pile. Lift your finger to 'drop' the card into the discard pile.
3. Double tap and hold on a playable card, then slowly move your finger to the top-right corner of the screen. This is the 'Mission' info area. Some cards are played on the mission area to manipulate mission parameters.

Hope that helps with movement. 🤠

As for how to play, the game has an amazing tutorial to teach you the ins and outs of the game. I encourage you to play the tutorial when you have plenty of time, as it is a little long, but totally worth it. 👌🏼

Or rather, drop isn’t. I double tap and hold, in the tutorial, it says dragging character, but it says nothing else as I move my finger around the screen. I’ve tried every possible direction, moving quickly or slow, nada. Then it says drag canceled when I release.

Any suggestions?

Hello there, you need to actually drag the character to the actual location of your target. So, find what target you wanna drag to with your finger, go back to your char, double tap and hold, wait for the sound and start dragging up and where you need to be. HTH.

As I play through this game, I have unfortunately stumbled upon a bug with the drag and drop feature.

I am not sure if this is VO exclusive, but what occasionally happens is that I will go to play a card, and then another card to pay the cost of the first card, and when I have payed the entire cost, the cards will suddenly be discarded and lost for the remainder of the game.

It is aggravating.

Regarding using Drag and drop, what works for me is to double tap and hold on a card until I hear it say dragging card, then I slowly move it to where it needs to go. i.e. opponent's card, play area, discard, etc.

HTH.

I'm also having trouble dragging cards. VoiceOver says it's dragging the card, but though I move my finger all over the screen, I can't find where to stop dragging, and when I do lift my finger, it says, "Drag canceled". It's frustrating since this really does look like a fun game. Are there any other suggestions for making this game work?

By Jonathan Candler on Thursday, February 8, 2024 - 22:41

Are you dragging up or down? You should feel haptics when the card is over an area where you can play and thus, VO should indeed tell you as well. Have you tried the tutorial that comes with the game? I've having no issues here. What phone do you have? I'm on the 13 here.

So I started playing this game and it’s great so far, but how can I rearrange my deck? After I win a battle, I can unlock a new card. I see several buttons such as add cards, remove cards, one more copy and one less copy. Also, I seem to have unlocked the shop and card augmentation, but how do I move there?

By Brian on Thursday, February 8, 2024 - 22:41

I haven't figured this one out yet. I wonder if it is something you do as you progress through the levels (battles)?

By Cecilia on Thursday, February 8, 2024 - 22:41

Thank you Jonathan! Your mentioning haptics helped me to figure out the problem.
Now, I'm embarrassed to say I don't know how to turn on vibrations. I have all the haptics set to on, but I've had vibrations set to off for years. and nothing I have tried in sounds and haptics settings has worked, including making sure the volume is at its highest after selecting a haptic pattern. I hate to go off-topic, but would someone please be kind enough to help me figure out how to get everything the way it should be so I can play this game?

By Jonathan Candler on Thursday, February 8, 2024 - 22:41

Are you not feeling haptics on the phone in the game itself? To test, as you're wanting to play a card, double tap and hold, wait for the sound and drag straight up until you hear play card area. You should also feel a little haptic feedback when your entering said area. This also works on your troops and your character as well. Double check your haptics settings on the phone also. If you're getting haptic feedback when you're using VO, or if you can, the haptics are certainly on. I didn't see any option to turn haptics on or off from within the game. Actually just checked.

By Brian on Thursday, February 8, 2024 - 22:41

Remember there are at least 2 places that hold settings for Haptics:

1. In Settings > Sounds and Haptics.
2. In Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Audio > VoiceOver Sounds and Haptics.

HTH. 😀

I hope one day they will make it so that you can move cards around in the same way you can move apps around on various home screens with the rotor.
