I know this may sound stupid but I can't figure out for the life of me on how to install the lanyard on the hable1 keybord. Not one of the reviewers on youtube or on the website has gone over this. I'm sure it's easy but I don't know how to thread it through the holes.
Thanks

I couldn’t either
I couldn’t either.
it’s a little tricky, but it can be done.
you start by twisting the Lanyard, so that the point of the loop becomes very narrow. Sliding the loop from the outside edge to the inside and gently pushing it through that little tiny hole will bring up a little tiny bit of the loop. You take that loop and pull it all the way through so that you’ve got a pretty good size loop. Taking the lanyard that’s sticking out over the edge of the Ava one pull that through the loop. once it’s through the loop, you turn the lanyard so that it’s facing straight up and the major portion of the loop is still within the bottom hole. From there you pull the Lanyard straight up that narrows the loop down till it goes tight. After that your lanyard is connected. hope this helps. i’ve connected three Havill this way.
An idea
I don't have this specific device, and I apologize for butting in on the thread.
I've had to attach lanyards to radios and other items that sound very similar to this, and I have to use this trick on beads all the time. You can thread a string (fishing line works best) through the hole or tunnel in the keyboard. Then put the end of the string through the loop of the lanyard, and feed the string back through the hole. Pull the now looped string through to pull the lanyard loop through the hole, a bit like a needle threader, if you're into sewing. You might have to twist the string around itself several times to give it a hold after putting it through the lanyard loop and pull it through, rather than feeding it back through the hole, depending on the stiffness of the string and the size of the hole.
From their, you probably put the other end of the lanyard through its loop to make a sort of knot. Like I said fishing line works very well, but you could also use dental floss.
headache
Now from reading how to do so this, I have a headache. Wow. Suggest that someone contact the creater and suggest a better way of doing that.
Re: headache
Sorry, Holger Fiallo. Simple version of what I wrote: use a thinner string to pull the lanyard through the hole.
OldBear
Not just your but all the suggestions. Why would they make it so hard for a blind person to do so knowing that this is a device that blind people will use. Wow.
Sighted people have the same problem
Anyone might have a problem with it, sighted or not.
It's mostly that the lanyard is thick for the size of the hole, or there is a curve in the tunnel the lanyard has to go through that causes the problem.
I agree, there's no reason…
I agree, there's no reason why they can't put this on before shipping. Let alone the company not describing how to do this in the manual or a totorial. Most radios I've purchased already come with lanyards preinstalled.
This is challenging for a blind person unless the lanyard has a spring clip. You think they would know that selling a product for the blind.
I agree.
I agree it should be on. There is a lot they should do or should've done but haven't. Compare features such as multi device switching, mac and windows screen reader support and apple watch support. The two other keyboards the Orbit Writer and Rivo have some or all of these. so do your research before purchasing. One other thing worth noting AEB support on the Hable at this time is porly implemented you won't have this issue if you use the Orbit Writer from what a friend says who has it. It is also worth noting this person also purchased 3 Hables with in a week. They got tired of waiting on Hable to add user requested features.
