When using the workout ap for running on my Apple watch series 8, I am meant to get audio announcements at the junctions 1 mile, 2 miles etc. This has never worked. Apple tell me different things about its a known problem, it will work with wireless headphones etc but I've still not been able to get the watch to speak those distance markers. It does vibrate at these points but they are easy to miss. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful. Thanks

The known issue is that this…
The known issue is that this does not work as long as VoiceOver is activated. Try the following:
- Start your workout
- Turn off VoiceOver
- Achieve one marker
Now, you should be able to hear the audio feedback through the Watch's speaker. I hope this gets a fix very soon. I informed Apple about this almost a year ago and it's still not fixed yet.
Audio destination
I find that when exercising and using Apple Airpods, I cannot get the audio announcements from the watch to come out of the Airpods if I am listening to a podcast on my iPhone. Having audio come out of the watch isn't very helpful in that situation since it can't be heard if using Airpods. I am hoping that Apple enables the ability to choose audio destinations and/or merge the iPhone and Watch audio when using Airpods.
