Hi everybody,
Weather Gods 4.4.0 is now available with the following new features and bug fixes.
Premium Subscribers
Worldwide Lightning notifications.
The notification includes the number of strikes, the distance of the closest strike to you and the bearing.
Worldwide Lightning Data
The app also has a lightning section in the severe weather centre. This lists strikes, the time of the strike, the distance and bearing. There is also a summary if you don't want to jump into the list.
Grandfathered Users
You have access to the Lightning data in the app but not the notifications. I tried to make this work for grandfathered users but the data is so expensive. With over 1000 active grandfathered users I would be unable to keep the app running. As some of you know I fund most of the data costs using personal income from my day job.
Extended Forecast Subscribers
There is now a notification that warns of approaching storm threats and those passing over. The notification includes information like the intensity of the storm, if there is rotation, the distance and bearing from you, hail size if present and any associated lightning.
Bug Fixes
Apple managed to break most of my complications in iOS 17.1 and WatchOS10.1 so I have had to apply an emergency fix which is included in this update.
Hopefully people like this update and find it useful.
Many thanks to the beta testers and translators for their help in creating this update.
Scott

Always free for beta testers.
Now that the app has…
Now that the app has lightening alerts, I canceled my subscription to carott and upgraded to premium to weather gods. :) Now weather gods has all the features I need.
WG
Also WG is very accessible and Scott is very responsive to input. How many apps do so? This app is getting better and better. Doing the beta testing for a long time and input provided to Scott gets ASAP response. This is a must app in your iPhone or watch or iPad tool.
Absolutely! I know when…
