A bit basic, but I really like Alex, even though I'm in the uk, Alex somehow sounds the most human, especially if I'm writing something that I want read out loud when editing, like a book or email.
On my iOS 16 and later devices are used Matilda, phone devices that don’t run iOS 16 I use a voice is like Alex, Ava, Tom, Daniel, Karen, this Siri voices, etc
I have been using Alex as my phone's voice since he first became available in iOS 8. Every time new voices become available, I try to check them out, but more often than not, they have pronunciation quirks that I just can't live with and which seemingly can't be fixed by the pronunciation editor. For example, Vocalizer Evan and Nathan can't even say iMessage correctly, which is weird, because their windows versions don't have that particular issue. I'd love to use American siri voice 4 as my default, but again, too many pronunciation issues that just annoy me beyond all reason. In fact, it blows my mind how many of the voices for VO say button in a really weird way. I can't even describe it, but I know I have at least one friend who agrees with me, although I think she's able to get over it and use the voice anyway. LOL!
Alex is far from perfect, and I hate the way he'll just spell stuff, presumeably when it's in all caps, but I've been using him for about nine years now, so don't see that changing unless there are major improvements in other premium voices. I will never, ever use Eloquence. I know many people love it, but with my hearing issues, it's just too muffled and robotic. I was super happy when the vocalizer voices for JAWS became responsive enough for daily use and I was able to stop using eloquence once and for all.
I also use Alex although I don't like the capital letter thing he does either. I use to use Samantha but I can't take that clinched teeth thing she does in ios16.
I played with Ava but she has pronounsiation issues with year and a few other words. I have been using Zoey enhanced since iOS 16. I hope to use Zoey premium if it becomes available in iOS 17. :)
Hi. I have the beta version of 17.2 on my iPhone 12 and don’t have Zoe premium. Odd as I want to see how she sounds. I am currently using Zoe enhanced.
Zoe, premium on windows and Zoe enhanced on iOS definitely sound different. I have Zoe premium on windows on my work computer and I don’t use her because she sounds like the compact version of Zoe for iOS. I use Ava premium for work computer.

I used to use Karen, but now
Australian female Siri. She is just as clear as Karen for me but even higher quality.
English US, Alex

Alexa
For me, Alex rocks. but many times, Alex pronounces every capital WORDS.
Tom
Tom is in my iPhone 13 pro, watch, and iPad 9 gen. I used Nathon for a time but did not like that he issues saying iTunes.
Matilda

Voice preference
I have always used Samantha. Tried others but always go back to good old Samantha.
Zoey
I played with Ava but she has pronounsiation issues with year and a few other words. I have been using Zoey enhanced since iOS 16. I hope to use Zoey premium if it becomes available in iOS 17. :)
Anna enhanced for German
Despite the quality regressions in iOS 16, I still love Anna enhanced as my primary voice for German (which is my mother tongue).

voices
The only thing I want from them is to work and do a good job. I want to be able to understand them.
