VoiceOver volume dipping

Does anyone else experience the issue where the VoiceOver volume dips if the phone is left idle, even for a short time? The initial output of speech is quieter and the volume rises back to the set level as the speech continues. It’s as if it autoducks after a while if the phone is doing nothing, locked or unlocked.
iOS 17, iPhone15.

I see this a lot. If I have media playing and speech is on, randomly the speech will start saying something which causes the media playing to duck. I can bring it back up again if I have VO read something. This happens no matter what app I am working in. I use eloquence, haven't tried a different voice to see if the issue persists.

Especially when using Eloquence. After playing and pausing media, ringtone or alarm sound, or sometimes even after leaving the device idle, the VO sound starts much lower than the set volume and gets back to normal after a while. For me, the issue impacts less if VO volume is kept at maximum. Earlier, till IOS16, I could manage with VO volume at 80 percent, but now it has to be kept at 100.

While using my iPhone 15 Pro, or the iPhone SE third generation, this voice dipping thing occurs, all over, for me. Highly annoyed with it all. I continue to confirm that volume is at 100%, always, in every way possible that we can adjust the volume controls, but it doesn't seem to matter. I despise audio ducking, and never use that, so that's not an issue, either. this voiceover dipping appears to act just like audio ducking does, at least in my opinion anyway. except for the fact that, the volume seems to gradually increase or decrease randomly.

I don't experience this or if I do it doesn't bother me but you can report it to accessibility@apple.com

You might not get a reply that isn't auto genirated but at least you did it.

Please do report to Apple, as suggested by Brad. I had already done this before posting this topic, which is why I was curious to see if it is affecting others. Apple requested enhanced diagnostics from my device, which I sent them, so it would be great if others could confirm that this is an issue.

Singer girl, hi. For me, it happens in any situation where the device goes silent, even for a short period of time, for example when it is woken from a locked state, or has been left unlocked and idle. It doesn’t matter what app, and it doesn’t seem to matter what voice.
I was able to reproduce the issue for Apple, simply by leaving intervals of 10-30 seconds reading paragraphs of a news article.

Yes. I have experienced this while my iPhone 12 is on the lock screen. When I unlock the phone VO volume reverts back to 100%. I used Ava premium and reset all settings and now I have Zoey. The volume seems to be fine with Zoey enhanced.

I don't think I experience this with that voice.

Also close all apps that use audio, including youtube, and see if that makes a diffirence, if it does, add it to the report.

Like I said I haven't experienced this so don't want to report something when I don't know what's going on but i'd recommend reporting it as it sounds like a sirious issue.
