This Action Button Podcast is Fantastic!
Great job as always creating this podcast. It is very informative and should be relevant and useable for a long time to come.
Now for my thoughts.
If I had to describe the action button in one phrase it would be, "Quick Power House ... in beta mode". Thomas talked about this toward the end of the podcast, but for those who don't listen to the whole thing, let me summarize the biggest flaw so far. While the action button is a fabulous idea and has a good beginning, the fact that it is only limited to one possibility at a time is somewhat vexing. Let me take ring versus silence mode as an example. In my opinion, this should always be an option, regardless of what else the action button is assigned to. While you can download and utilize the multi button to get two shortcuts to use at this time the button is not being utilized nearly to its full potential. Right now, the multi button app feels like going from your wrist around your backside to get to your elbow. In an ideal world, you should be able to single press, double press, triple press, and a press and hold action on each of those number of taps as well. The quick single tap should always switch between ring and silent mode, but that would still leave a ton more options available. Hopefully Apple will further utilize this in future updates, and I believe they will.
Great job again Thomas.
nice
Nice job. iOS 18 probably will give more power to the button. Will see.
Multi-Action Button
I am interested in learning how to get, configure and use the multi-action button shortcut. I was expecting to find an article about it in the show notes but have been unable to find anything. Can someone let me know where I can find the article on the multi-action button shortcut that Thomas referred to in the podcast?
