Accessibility Comments

The previous version of this was fully accessible with VoiceOver, and mentioned as much in its description. Unfortunately, the latest update (5.0) has introduced a few minor quirks and problems. Considering that this is a major new update (adding support for RSS), we will have to hope that Digg repeats it previous commitment to accessibility and fixes these problems in a future update. For now, VoiceOver isn't announcing unread counts. There also appears to be no way of knowing which articles have already been read or marked as read. There is no option to only show unread articles, and VoiceOver gives no feedback on the status of an article as you flick through the article list. There also appears to be no way of editing an existing feed - I don't know if this is simply not an option in this version or whether VoiceOver isn't finding it. When viewing the main menu, there are 2 buttons displayed at the very bottom of the screen (Add and Settings). It's easiest to try and locate these with your finger, as something quirky happens if you try to reach them by simply flicking through the other items in the menu - you will get to them eventually, but only after VoiceOver has taken something of a detour to announce the list of articles that is visually hidden when the menu is shown on screen. Article lists and articles themselves appear to be fully accessible. With some fixes, this could be a good option for those looking for a Google Reader replacement.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads most page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

Still very accessible. There is one unlabel button in what I've found but extremely easy to use. A very different approach in reading your news.
