Siri unpredictably cutts off in the middle of an answer.

Hi all.

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I haven't seen it anywhere and a search had no results. Siri is cutting off in the middle of an swer. Say I asked it which states bordered New Hampshire.
"Here's what I found out from Worldatlas.com, New Hampshire shares a border with mas..."

It doesn't always happen, but it is frequent. Is there something I have to do, or should I report it?

See this most time, when I send message and she is reading it, she stop and ask me if I want to send it, If I am sending a voice message she forgets to ask and just send it. She needs a doctor. I think is a bug. Is not fix in iOS 17.1 beta 3.

And in messages, if Siri cuts off the message and I ask him to read the message, he will say there are no new messages. So then I say, read my last message and he'll read the whole thing.

I too experience this issue and I changed from American English Siri voice 4 to American English Siri voice 1. It did not completely squash the bug but it seemed to help. I am using an iPhone 15 Pro and this is a fresh install of everything. I did not restore from a backup. I would report it but I am not sure if accessibility is the correct department since Siri is not an accessibility issue. The more Apple hears from us the more likely they will address the issue.

I turned off hey siri for a day, and didn't get the cut offs, only annoying thing, is I like being able to talk to it hands free when my phones across the room. After turning it back on, the cut off behavior returned.
In any event, maybe give that a try and see if it helps with the issue.

hi all,

if beta testing, report through Feedback Assistant. if not, there is a way to bring up Feedback assistant, even though no testing is taking place. I'm not sure what that is, as I am beta testing, but I've seen it before on the forums. someone who knows, please chime in.

I noticed this issue coming up after the release of the original iOS 17. this has never happened before and knowing how random voice response systems are when they are in constant listening mode, I always have left Hey Siri disabled. This happened any time there was background noise, from a louder sound on TV, or my voice speaking to the cat, or even noises from things outside if I was not in the apartment. I reported it to Apple, sent them videos of this happening and they confirmed way back in early October if memory serves me correctly that they were able to reproduce this bug. I have followed up twice and Apple has stated that they would reach back out to me once a fix has been put in place. It is interesting that this has not been highlighted among known bugs, but of all the things that go sideways with Voiceover, this one has been among the most annoying of all and its not a Voiceover issue. I think the issue may have been created when they allowed folks to ask Siri multiple questions at the same time, but that is just my theory. Trying to get a longer list of sports scores is all but impossible now unless you are in a room that is as quiet as a library with no background noise of significance.

This is in fact what is causing Siri to have interruptions when answering queries, when reviewing messages, etc. Sadly, I do not think there is (currently) a way to disable Adaptive mode.

There is however, a possible work-around. Set Siri to automatically send messages. This will at least partially fix the issue in regards to messages.

HTH. 🤷🏼‍♂️
