Unfortunately I didn't graduate Psychic class yet, so I have no earthly idea what the app is, what it does, what it once was, why it's gone, what would it do for whatever you or we want it for?

By Lee on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

Brilliant Siobhan! Oh and I agree never heard of it lol.

By GayBearUK on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

I did use it a long time ago. A few toxic people on there. But also quite a few really nice people. Not sure what the app is like nowadays.

By Siobhan on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

Ya could bite the bullet and actually download it and see, if it meets your needs? Or would you rather have confirmation it works for someone, yet when you use it it might not? Ah the accessibility question is never ending... :)

It was a great app that you could go and talk to people. Sadly AppleVis did a podcast on it and many, many untitle and poor excuse of humans went there and destroy the experience. It was like having 3 or 5 yearls old kids. Did the beta and you could have good discussion and the creator went of his way to make it very accessible. If still there, do not know.

FYI. Is Vorail.

From what I remember, there was an equal number of toxicity and otherwise, but that happens everywhere so not much to say about that. The app was fully accessible last I used it. What made me quit the app was... the developer got a bit... Greedy, imo. He started charging to use the app, I mean having to pay to use a social media app? I quit the app after that happened, not to mention the app is only subscription based.

Why is that people want all things free. entitle? Yes. The app was suppose to be free yes, but after time with the work on the app and so many things that he probably needed to do to make it accessible he needed to charge. The entitle people cry and threw a tantrum.

I started using Vorail about a month ago. I absolutely love it. Yeah sure there’s a few toxic people on there, but just stay away from them that’s all. It cost five bucks a month but in my opinion, it’s a small price and I don’t mind paying that to support the developers.

By Brad on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

It's an app where you can post an audio question and get an audio answer.

I liked the idea but there were tonnes of americans and not enough people from the UK for my liking. I have nothing against Americans but when the app is about 99 percent full of them, it makes chatting a bit hard plus there's timezones and all that.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

It was not entitlement. I bearly used it as is, and why pay for something I don't use? Part of it was the price yes, but if you think about it; most social media platforms are free. Facebook, signal, telegram, need I go on? I get it, the dev needs to earn, but this seems a bit much. I mean there are other apps out there that, hint, do the same thing as vorail and... They're free so... But its not entitlement as you say. Not all is because someone is entitled as you think. And think about it. Why would someone pay for an app when a, there are alternatives that do the same for free or, b, you have apps such as the ones mentioned above that do the same thing as far as talking to people via voice? Most people will go for the free alternative, its human nature that when you have two products that do the same thing, and one is cheeper than the other... People generarly tend to go for the cheeper of the 2. So no, its not entitlement.
also @dominic... who are you talking about in your post? You didn't make that clear.

Before the inter webs, people used to actually go outside and meet people. They would then speak to said people. And now, to coin an old advert, "there's an app for that!"

/end dating myself. 😫

By Troy on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

I was there until it became subscription based, I am not going to pay for an app that's full of toxic users.

By Holger Fiallo on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

If it does, I will pay and be able to mention she who should not be name.

By Brian on Thursday, October 26, 2023 - 07:48

Who is "she who must not be named"? Truly, I am not in the loop.
Also, Dominic, you are not allowed to date until you're like. . .
My age.

I have spoken. 🤨

I’ve been using the app for over two years and I love it! I don’t mind paying for the subscription every month☺️

The first thing I noticed is that people don't pay attention. The question was whether you still use the app or not. If you've never heard of it, you obviously don't. I suggest that if you're looking for a social media platform that has no pictures or ads or text, and is strictly a voice app, find it in the app store and try it. There is a free trial period. As has been stated, there are, just as in the case of all social media apps, good and bad people. The first thing you encounter is a hands-on tutorial from which you can learn the gestures. Note that this app does not use Voice-Over. The reason that there is a charge for using the app is that there are costs for data storage and other things that the developers should not have to pay. We use the app, we should pay for doing so. It is roughly $5 a month in US currency or $50 for a year, so you get 12 months for price af 10. Use the free trial period and see what you think. I've been using tha app since May first of 2016, and still do.

On VoRail, I go by "forever ornery beastmaster. As for other apps that do the same thing, VoRail is the only one on which there is the use of your voice ONLY!! As for the people that are toxic, you can put them into a mute bin, and will not hear from them again. Mold the app to your liking. When you first open the app, there is a toggle that is turned on be default that is called the Country Lane. With this turned on, you will not hear from those users who are, for one reason or another, have been muted by the highest number of users. In the settings, you can turn this filter on or off, as well as many other options to customize the app to your liking.

By Holger Fiallo on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 - 07:48

Not anymore.

By Jonathan Candler on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 - 07:48

I stopped supporting the app after I found out that the dev wasn't taking any more feedback from users. Or, so I've been told. The ability to delete our own stuff was top on my list and always has been but he chooses not to implement. I mean, come on, it's 2024 and a lot of other social media apps let you delete, or edit your content. Now I mostly go on there to troll and I love it just for that because I love making a lot of old people mad hehehehehehe! It's funny and people take things way too seriously lol. Control the puppet as I say.

By Winter Roses on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 - 07:48

I tried the application when it first came out, and I think this was before it became a subscription based app, but that's not why I left. The app is audio based, kind of like Clubhouse, and I never stayed on there long enough to encounter the toxicity. It Was simply not something I was interested in, and that's not because of the people, the layout, or anything else. It wasn't my cup of tea, but if anyone else is interested in trying the app for themselves, definitely give it a go. I know they have a free trial. The app is customizable. At the end of the day, whether or not, I or anyone else, chooses to use this app, it doesn't significantly affect My life, one way or the other. It's a question. Answer and move on. No need for the unnecessary toxic negativity. Anyway, don't come for me. Wherever you are in the world right now, I hope that you're doing well.

By kool_turk on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 - 07:48

I use to use Vorail, until I found myself hardly using the app.

This was before it became a subscription service.

When it became paid, I thought I'd give it a go for one month, see if activity had picked back up, unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

Plus, people would talk for a really long time, I'm talking about more than 5 minutes, and that was before they even got to the point of their message.

So I decided to leave and haven't gone back.

If people wouldn't ramble, and just got to the point, perhaps I would have stayed.

But I think a lot of users left once they found out it was going to be paid.

By Brad on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 - 07:48

Like Jonathan Candler said I stopped after finding out the dev wasn't listening to us.

You can't delete your own posts or replies, he clames it's because it will break up the thread, ok; just add a deleted tag and be done with it.

I really don't like this idea that once it's on the internet; it's on there for ever. No, I have a right to my own data.

It's interesting in a way, I don't care much for privacy but when it comes to stuff I can manipulate myself, then I care.

By Brooke on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 - 07:48

I was on there very briefly. But I'm not a fan of audio only, especially when people ramble so long before getting to the point of their message. I also wanted the ability to delete my own content, and when it was clear that would never be available, I chose to leave.
