Accessibility Comments

The accessibility of Skype for iPad is not as good as its iPhone counterpart. In the contacts list, users' online status is not reported...so one must open a contact and check that way. Also, when recording a video message...the text of the "record" button does not change while recording, leaving one thinking that the button-press did not go through.

Most buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

There are some minor accessibility issues with this app, but they are easy to deal with.

The Skype Interface

It would be great if the interface for the iPad version of Skype was like the iPhone version. With Skype for iPad, the contacts aren't in a list. I think that is why VoiceOver doesn't read the contacts online status and mood message like the iPhone version. I have e-mailed the Skype team about this but they never got back to me.

Mark all as read

I have also found that marking all one's chat messages are read is an issue. Everytime I load the sidebar, it briefly says mark all as read but there doesn't appear to be any way of getting to it.

Version 4.10

Version 4.10 is now available with no immediately obvious accessibility improvements. VoiceOver still does not indicate whether a contact is online or not, and that is a deal-breaker for me. "What's New in Version 4.10 Call quality improvements - Make HD quality video calls from your iPad (4th generation only). - General improvements to call quality and stability. General fixes and improvements - A redesigned country code picker on the dial pad."

At least they've made the mark all as read accessible now.

Calling on IPad

So, I have been using Skype for IPad for a couple of weeks, and I have a question. Is it possible to join group calls using IPad. Every time I try and join a group call, I can never find the join call button. I have an IPad mini, and I can make calls to an individual contact, but that's about it. Thanks
