Hello, all. I'm writing this as someone who, in general, hates to wear headphones unless I have no other choice, like at work or the gym. At work, I use a pair of wired sony ear buds with my victor reader. Since t hey work very well, I don't want to risk damaging them, so when I go to planet fitness, I have been using a pair of super cheap, supposedly waterproof ear buds I found on amazon. They've been great for a year or so, but just started shorting out this morning. Perhaps airpods aren't the best bet for my situation, but I am curious if they'd be a worthwhile investment; I've heard about a lot of intreaguing features that might be fun to check out, but they're awfully expensive, and if they won't work well for the gym, then I definitely don't want them, but if they're moderately sweatproof, I'd be open to the idea of purchasing them. I've also shyed away from any bluetooth audio devices because of the lag with VO. Obviously, not a concern for music, but if I'm doing anything else, it's just too noticeable, at least for me. Bottom line: any advice or recommendations you may have would be extremely appreciated. Hopefully, I'll figure out some sort of solution before Mom and I do the planet fitness thing again.

Do check him out, he does review on them. Go to YouTube and search what you want with his name. He does from spensive to nice price.

I recently bought the of Airpod Pro 2 I sweat a lot when exercising on my treadmill.

The description gives them a moderately good water resistance rating. Not "water proof", i.e., you can't dunk them in water, but they are supposed to be water resistant to things like splashing.

I've only had them a few weeks but haven't had any problems. They are great on the treadmill because you can quickly switch from "transparency mode" (i.e., hear what is around you, to "noise reduction" mode either by asking Siri or touching then a certain way. I don't like touching them with sweaty fingers, so I usually ask Siri.

Amazingly, the noise reduction on these things is just about as good as my Bose noise reduction headphones, and they certainly will be smaller to cary on the next plane ride I take!

How do you ask siri? I am curious if you can do so with the AirPod pro.

Hi,

I recently replaced my old AirPods 2nd gen with the 3rd generation. They have the following specs: "AirPods, the Lightning Charging Case, and the MagSafe Charging Case are rated IPX4 sweat and water resistant, so they’ll withstand anything from rain to heavy workouts."
In the few months I've had them, (doing workouts 5 days a week), I have had no problems, so if you're already in the Apple ecosystem, i'd definitely give these some consideration.

If you are looking for the Airpods to have noise cancellation, transparency mode, and adaptive listening features, then you want the Pro models.

If not, the other models are fine.

Here is a link to an Apple site that outlines the differences bewteen the various models.

I personally make use of the noise cancellation especially when on the loud treadmill or other noisy environments.

Just be sure you get what you want.
