Does anybody believe the rumours about the iPhone 15 pro bending problems?

Several people on YouTube and on the Internet have done multiple iPhone, 15 pro reviews and teardowns and has showed that sometimes if you bend it too much the iPhone, 15 pro titanium frame, shutters and brakes. Jerry rig Everything did a video on this, followed by a few days later, videos by people like Hugh Jeffreys, zolotech, and several other people. What do you think about these rumours?
I anI am extremely concerned about these runners as these are people who do repairability and Tara dance on a daily basis and repairs?

But are you trying to intentionally break your phone?

By Andy Lane on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

As Dennis said, they are trying to break these phones. If I remember correctly it was the Pro Max that broke in the Gerry rig everything video but it was the glass that cracked not the titanium but thats just from memory. Unless a lot of evidence that phones are breaking surfaces then I really wouldn’t be worried. Apple will have done testing after bendgate but remember if there is a fundamental problem which is highly unlikely. It will be in Apples interests to put everything right for their customers plus all the phones will be in warranty for a year and there will definitely be enough evidence by then to say whether a mass recall is justified. I very much doubt it though. I think whats more likely is that you get more followers clicks and likes when you show the iPhone doing something it shouldn’t. I’m not sure that they publish the force required to break the phones either.

Well, my personal opinion, they are just wrecking views for the videos. I wouldn't worry about this issue as somebody mention.

If anyone has the extra cash by a phone see if you can break it, drop it from a 6th story window lets see if it still works *smile* All these videos are designed to do is get clicks and views they make money off them if they have enough views so keep that in mind also.

I didn't know we were expected to bend the iPhone. Can we hit it with a ball peen hammer too?
When someone throws a beer bottle at my mailbox, I pick up the pieces, shape them with a grinder, and make jewelry out of them. If it weren't for those pesky, lithium batteries that explode, this might be an interesting project for an old iPhone: necklace, bracelet and earring set...

I personally after watching those videos wouldn’t worry about anything the only trying to break the device they aren’t talking about actually daily loss

If you try to bend any cell phone, on purpose, it will bend. What I consider more important is, will it bend when I am transporting or using it as it is designed? Take care of these expensive phones. Keep it in a sturdy case, never carry it in a back pocket, don't sit on it, stuff like that. Would you try to bend it to see if it will bend? If it does, it's your fault for bending it. This complaint was blown out of proportion when the iPhone 6 came out. The news media ran with it as a strike against Apple. They did not tell you that Android phones would also bend if you try to bend them. I won't worry about rumors, because that's exactly what they are. Rumors.

If I tried to break a plate, bowl, hair brush, plant pot, window or phone I am very confident I could achieve my goal. If I then took any of those items back to the shop and said it’s faulty because it broke and they asked me how it broke. I’d have to answer well I bent it with more and more force until it snapped so it’s faulty and I want a refund. They’d look at me like I’m mentally ill. Thats what these YouTube video’s are doing. If they wanted to put the phones in a machine that measures the amount of force required to break them then publish the results in a table. That would be at least informative but just bending with increasing force until it breaks doesn’t achieve anything for anyone other than the thumbnail for their video, a bunch of likes and swirling talk based on how that guy managed to break the phone so therefore its got a design floor. It’s ridiculous.

A bendable iphone was not a good idea. Period.

By Dominic on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Yo, please bring me back to the days of when people were saying the iPhone 6 used to be bending. The only reason I would see of an iPhone, bending and breaking is a Apple used really really really really cheap materials which they don’t

Top tip. Don't be a dumb ass and bend or even try to drop your phone from a 6 story window! Don't do these things and you're good.

By Dominic on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Yeah. Bending it or dropping it isn’t a good idea. These people just do repair abilities and tests on those devices.. Does the iPhone 15 pro use the same titanium as like the Apple Watch? Or is it a stronger thing of titanium?

By Lily Rose on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Don't try to bend your iphone just because it can be bent. That's how you break your phone.

By Andy Lane on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

The Watch ultra appears to be made of Grade 4 and the iPhone pro grade 5. Grade 4 is apparently easier to form into complex shapes as it can be cold formed. I guess thats why they used it in the watch. It’s a much more intricate shape than the phone. Grade 4 seems to be the alloy thats the primary alloy used in aerospace.

We've covered the, don't break the phone, don't drop the phone, lessons. I guess the only thing i'd add is has anyone's brain melted just a bit owing to the fact someone's actually concerned about a breaking phone which would take tremendous force to achieve? No? Just me? Ah ok then. Carry on. Oh if the phone is broken, do tell us how in such a manner it was done. I mean if it is gonna happen, it's gotta be spectacular, right? :)

By Bingo Little on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

I understand that if you heat the iPhone 15 pro enough, it will melt. How on earth are people going to use it when we're all living in 1500 degrees tempertures? even worse, I heard the iPhone cannot survive being exposed to Absolute Zero, or -273 degrees celsius. I new there was a reason why i chose not to upgrade.

By Dominic on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Ok, that is scary

Wow

Just

Wow

I think we all know the difference. If you are going to do that, you must have money! you must need the aid of a good therapist or you must be bore. Phone is to be treasure and protect, this is why most of us get a case, and use screen protection.

By Lily Rose on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Most certainly disturbing! I'm keeping my SE for now and have now intentions of upgrading as the phone I have works just fine.

By OldBear on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Bingo Little you didn't define Celsius or Fahrenheit for this, "1500 degrees tempertures." If you mean Celsius, which is what you use for another temperature in your comment,, that's slightly cooler than the typical cone 10 at which a ceramics kiln is fired. If you meant Fahrenheit, that's somewhere around cone 06, the typical bisque firing temperature where everything inside the kiln is incandescent and there are no shadows when you have someone look through the peephole.
I was having trouble with my phone only charging to a certain point this summer because it was too hot in my house. As they say, the desert thins the blood. Apparently, it doesn't thin the electrical current...

I think I will start a YouTube channel and my first video will be to prove the most troubling thing that can happen to an iPhone 15 Pro. Can you really believe that if you were to throw it into a volcano, it would be destroyed? Oh, still skeptical this is true? Stay tuned for my upcoming YouTube exclusive where I will prove my theory correct. I will even leave the case on it just to prove that I speak truth!

By Dominic on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

When your dun, pleas send the video here

Cheers mate

By Bingo Little on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Celsius, Old Bear, Celsius. The other scale is unlawful ever since Thoburn v. Sunderland City Council, the metric martyrs case. Can you hear your iPhone from inside the kiln? I'm assuming you're outside the kiln? Or am I wrong about that?

By OldBear on Monday, October 23, 2023 - 01:40

Bingo Little, it's been years since I was inside or outside of a kiln, but I assure you, an iPhone would be a molten puddle and smoke in the air at cone 10 temperatures.
I am mildly curious about the ceramic glass Apple uses though. And many of the components of an iPhone could be found in glazes, or as I said, could end up as a glaze puddle if you put it inside a bowl or on a plate being fired.
