Betas are out for iOS 17.1, watch OS 10.1, I think tvOS 17.1, and I don’t know about a Sonoma beta.

Apple Beta Releases

After two weeks of no betas, we finally have our next big beta for iOS 17 dot one. Let’s hope some of the outstanding Voice over bugs mentioned in previous forms will finally be fixed.
We can discuss bug/new voiceover features, as well as other fixes (the issues with custom ringtones and text tones and other ringtone related issues) as well as any other comments about 17.1 or any of the other beta released today.

Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms

Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.

If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

I just found something that said TvOS 17.1 and Mac OS 14.1 wereboth now available as Developer betas.
I’m guessing public beta will be out tomorrow at around 1 PM Eastern time.

Try tone is back.
Spell check bug is still present in email if auto correct and predictive is turned off.

This is on my iPhone 15 Pro. I was able to go back to using the custom text tone I was using prior to the RC of iOS 17. Also, the focus problems in the native weather app seems to have been fixed as well. I can now swipe through the entire hourly forecast section without being thrown down to the "location chooser" picker.

Yup, that’s right. Say goodbye to new ringtones. You’re not just back at Tri tone, your text tone is now the default. I first noticed this when someone said their new email sound had been changed back to the default.
I also think that means The new haptics brought to some of the older tones are also gone now too.
Two possible theories I have as to why this might be the case.
1. This beta was compiled before these ringtones were made.
2. They are removing them so that they can make some finer adjustments to them on internal builds of iOS .
I don’t know why they would do that, but they did. Long live the new iOS 17 ringtones! I loved having welcome as my text tone because of the long haptic on it.
I forget what ringtone I was using, but I liked it because it sounded cool and the haptics were cool. They’re all gone!

As far as performance, it feels about the same as 17.0.2. I’ve only had the update for a day so I can’t tell you how much the battery is draining, but I can tell you that everything is running fine from on an iPhone 14 pro.

Honestly, I loved the new Ringtones. I hope they bring them back.

I am not able to change action button options with voiceover. Am using an iPhone 15 Pro.
I had it set to run a shortcut. After updating to 17.1 beta, I am not able to choose other options.

It's common, see macromors.com to understand the first beta they are playing round with a ton of stuff. The ringtones, feedback they introduced will be back. just not yet. I'll wait until at least the third before updating. Even doing same with Mac

...and just bug Siobhan once it gets closer to RC time, as to what to expect. 😇

I think this is because this beta was built prior to the rc of 17. Hopefully, this means our custom tones will again begin working when the tones do return.

Thanks for those who are testing and let us know and for those who expect things to get better with this beta, be realistic. First beta and many more to come. Apple is on letter H.

Not super concern about the temporary tones and haptics change reversal, or at least I hope it's temporary. I really want those to come back and be here to stay. Of course I understand the issues of the tones's volume being to quiet, and people lost access to their custom-made tones, but they could just fix those issues while keeping those new tones set right? I wish they could. And the default sound for notifications, they should let us customise that too even with the introduction of the new one so people can decide what they prefer to use.

Good day. When I was running the Betas up until the release candidate it seemed like the focus issue had been solved. When the release candidate came out all of a sudden the focus issue where when an icon would be tapped the focus jumpped to another icon would come back. With this new beta does that still happen? I ask because some are suggesting that this beta might have been written before 17 came out due to the lack of new ring tones. I hope that the focus issue is not present in this new beta. Thoughts?

Hi all,

I'm sticking with the stable releases. I know that all of the new ringtones are gone initially, but I'm sure Apple will bring them back in a future update.

I'm testing out the public beta, and I've noticed that Braille is quicker, still have the bug with getting stuck in the status area. I was going to report it when I discovered that my bluetooth keyboard wouldn't connect and stay that way. I tried two keyboards and rebooted the phone. I suppose I could reset settings, but unless I'm getting paid, I won't.

Ok guys it seems that in 17.1 beta the weather app is now fixed. Been checking for a few hours and it works how it should for me on iPhone 13pro. Hopefully this is a fix that doesn't go away.

updated to ios 17.0.1 yesterday, and braille screen input, when doing a three finger swipe up, such as to send a message... it doesn't work. It broke again, and i'm running the public version of ios, not the beta. Is this fixed for you all on the latest beta?
Edit: Tried reseting all settings, and bsi works as expected again. Guess something got finicky when I updated.
