I use yahoo fantasy sports religiously, but their apps aren't as accessible as they should be in my opinion... Does anyone know of an accessible app that works with yahoo fantasy sport? If not, what can we do to encourage them to update their apps for voiceover accessibility? Thanks!

Chris,

I don't know of any accessible app that will access your Yahoo fantasy account. However, recently the

Sports Scores and Alerts

app updated to include a fantasy tracker. You can import your team from either Yahoo or ESPN or just customize players from scratch. So, if nothing else, you can use this to get alerts about your players until we can get Yahoo to be more accessible.

I use ESPN myself and I love the website but I have similar experiences with their app that you seem to have with Yahoo. That being said, ESPN has given their fantasy football app a makeover this year. I'm hoping as we get closer I will find that it's more accessible than last years version. If so, I'll try and do a podcast review of it.

By the way, I've started a league on ESPN this year specifically for blind or visually impaired owners. Chris, if you or anyone else wants to join please let me know. I have a few spots left at the moment.

Carlos we would love to have you! You (and anyone else interested) can send me an email with the email address I should send an invite to. My email is tim@lifeafterblindness.com I'm hoping to fill the league up soon so that we can set up a draft date.

This is something I have been looking at getting into but haven't found out the best way to do it. Are there any particular tools that a blind person uses to play with? Best site for all the information we will need to build our draft?

the web sites for the yahoo, ESPN and nfl.com leagues are all accessible on PC and Mac, however the IOS apps for those leagues are only partially accessible. I don't think you can do a live draft with voiceover on any of them. But you can manage your team on your PC/Mac or through Safari on your iPhone or iPad. As far as a good site for football info, I like the www.footballguys.com site, they have a paid yearly subscription, but the free tools they have such as a daily email and their weekly podcasts have excellent content, Depending on how much you are into fantasy football, if you were going to pay for any such subscription service, I would recommend these guys - very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with all their content.

Have any of you guys found the online drafts of these sites to be accessible on any platform? I played at work last year and we had an offline draft but I wanted to participate with another group of friends who did an online draft. None of the sites seemed to work anywhere with the drafting.
