Confused regarding latest iOS release

Hi guys I'm in the UK and have been on the iOS17 public beta. Now over the last few days people have been saying that iOS17.0.1 is out mainly for security updates etc. However, I'm showing as iOS17.0 and it states iOS is upto date so no sign of 17.0.1. So is 17.0.1 out and if so it is very odd I can't get it. Surely can't be UK based or anything.

It won’t be geographical restriction. Apple doesn’t do that with its updates. I think whats going on is that the 17.0 GM already had the zero day security updates in it or Apple have decided as 17.1 beta 1 will be out very soon that the risk was lower to leave beta testers without the security updates although I think thats less likely. I think if you cancel public beta in settings, your phone will download 17.0.1. Just a guess though.

Cheers guys makes sense. May wait for 17.1 which can't be long in coming out at least on the beta.

I’m going to give it a few days to see how more daring people get on with 17.1 beta 1 then I’ll update. In previous years I was straight in there with every beta update from the start but last year has made me rethink. It wasn’t a good year for iPhone bugs so I’ll wait. I wouldn’t be surprised if 17.1 beta 1 was out in the next couple of days. It usually follows pretty quickly from the previous release. Often next day but that didn’t happen this time.

You need to turn off beta updates in order to see the new release. It is not included in the gold master, and this is a serious security vulnerability that you should not wait to install. Please install as soon as possible.
