Hi,
Just submitted fb to apple. Using Braille on-screen input, if I use the Delete Word gesture when there are characters after the cursor, VoiceOver does not announce the deleted word. This is a big productivity hit if you want to edit and review what you have written. Was working fine before iOS 17 beta.
Steps:
1. In an edit field write something and make sure the insertion point is at the end.
2. Using Braille on-screen input mode, (I use screen away mode) flick left with 2 fingers and VoiceOver announces correctly the word that was just deleted.
3. Use the word or character rotor option to make sure voiceover is not at the end of the text in edit field.
4. Use the same Delete Word gesture to remove word to the left of cursor.
VoiceOver will not announce what is being deleted.
Is anyone else seeing this? Is it working well for any of you? Asking to see if it's worth resetting or some such thing.
Thanks!

To summarize in a different…
To summarize in a different way, VoiceOver while in Braille Screen Input announces the character, space, etc.... to the right of the VO cursor when deleting by word. If nothing is to the right of the VO cursor, it will announce the word being deleted. If there is something to the right of the VO cursor, it will announce that item, i.e. Space, A, B C, etc.... I reported this back in July as well.
Yes, this is a known bug
This is a known bug, and hopefully apple can fix it.
thanks, you saved me time
yeah, very unpleasant error and found it into final release.
THANKS to have reported it during beta cycle, I have just logged on to AppleVis to report it here but I found you already have, so, many many thanks.
I am no longer a beta-tester, due to my much longer productivity on iPhone and iPad, so, let's say I don't want to play with fire...
So I cannot use feedback assistant
thanks again and I confirm it, for all languages.
I still have to try it in tabletop mode but I bet it's the same
