YouTube update

Does anybody find it hard to use YouTube with the new update. For me and now that I’m clearly labeled buttons and it keeps jumping. Also, the titles are read half and sometimes the videos you click on it’s not the video you want.

I really do not like the update as the comment session is field with handles from other people's channels. for example, anenglishmanplusamerican instead of an Englishman plus American.

I haven't really noticed any changes on the YouTube app for iOS. Might do you some good to just uninstall/reinstall it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The channel handles are added in the comments in order to prevent spam and impersonation of channels, especially bigger channels on YouTube who do not necessarily have a verified badge. Not to mention that some people sell their channels with the badge attached, so it's hard to tell what's happening over there. It's a mess, honestly. If I remember correctly, the feature was implemented this year.
Anyway, ever since the last couple of YouTube updates, the app has been pretty clunky. It's hard to explain if you haven't seen the issue before. Once upon a time, you could search for content, see the title and duration of the video, along with the channel name, and you could click on the channel, but now when you do that, it plays the video, instead of taking you to the channel. I have reported the issue before, but I don't think the agent understood what I was saying. I submitted a screen recording though, and while I would love to follow up on the issue until it's completely resolved, life is not going to stand still enough for me to do so. As far as I'm concerned, I've done more than most would have in such a situation. It's draining for sure, especially since there are other things that need my attention. The app still works, but it's annoying, to say the least. Deleting and reinstalling the app only fixes it for a time, not permanently.
It looks like this.

I don't know. It's totally messy and complicated. There are also some weird spaces between the information. Either way, just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one experiencing this issue for what it's worth.

Exactly as you pasted it. It now takes 4 swipes to get through a single video title compared to a single swipe before it got broken. Community posts are also a big problem. You can’t navigate through them forwards or backwards. Focus always jumps or gets stuck. Search has been almost unusable for a long time too.

I don't mind it. You just flick down to go to channel, then double tap, or just tap on the video.

Also I know this is off topic but does anyone know how to auto update apps? It would make things a bit easier for me.

As far as clicking on the channel and playing the video instead I have noticed this on the website using jaws as well.

I’m pretty sure it’s somewhere in settings. I disabled auto updates three months ago and I didn’t search much for how to do it. It should be easy.
If someone doesn’t beat me to it, I might give you the full answer in a bit.

To turn on automatic app updates, go to Settings > App Store and double-tap the "App updates" switch.

Thanks for that, I guess I glossed over the app store setting in my phone.
