Hi Scott. I just listened to this week's issue of Eyes on Success, and you did an excellent job. I had no idea you and James had to basically re-write stuff and that the app was originally very graphical. You guys have done an outstanding job, and I'm so glad I had the bucks to spend on it. Well worth everything!

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Thursday, March 21, 2019 - 15:59

Hi Justin,

I started looking at the two finger swipe for the weather wheel. Unfortunately, it looks like Apple only support detecting the three finger swipe, which we already use.

I will have a think of alternatives.

I'm in Denmark, and this app is excellent! The accessibility is very good, and I really enjoy the notifications as well. Great job!

By Maranatà on Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 15:59

As I said, I consider this app totally blasphemous! The name of God should never be used to make money or other things. The developer claims to be a Christian! But apparently he does not know the 10 commandments well, one of which expressly says "Do not name God in vain." In this application the word God is repeated many times. I don't want to offend anyone, but this app offends both God and us.

By MelodicFate on Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 15:59

Then it's simple. Don't like the name? Don't use it. All throughout history, religions have had multiple gods. Personally, I think it a genius idea to separate things out by different "gods". Keeps things interesting. And whether the developer is religious or not is really none of our business. It's a weather app, and not meant to have anything to do with religion.

By That Blind Canuck on Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 15:59

I completely agree with the two previous posts. You have every right to your opinion, but to ask the developer to make such a change because it offends you and your beliefs, I think is unrealistic.

Like others have said, if you find the app that offensive, then JUST DELETE AND DON'T USE IT!

By Maranatà on Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 15:59

You are a friend, you can have all the opinions you want, but what you think is worth nothing before our Lord's word. And he clearly said "Don't mention God in vain!" Or do you also want to discuss with God? This is his word and does not allow replies!

Religion is a personal thing and this is not the place. This need to end before applevis staff does it for you. Bella the cat agrees with me. She also would prefer the app to be name Bella the cat because her people were treated as Goddess. Enjoy your believes and what you think is important but not here.

By Mlth on Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 15:59

@58 Please take your religious spam elsewhere. This is not the place.

I just want to add that the Siri integrations in this app is absolutely excellent! One thing to keep in mind is that for some reason, the actions don't work within the shortcuts app itself, you have to add it from Siri within settings instead. I heard Apple is integrating shortcuts more tightly together in iOS 13, so maybe this will change then.

By Holger Fiallo on Saturday, September 21, 2019 - 15:59

How is the app doing with iOS 13 and watch OS? I know 3 weeks the new iOS will be out and wanted to know how is the app doing? I lke the app.

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Monday, October 21, 2019 - 15:59

Hi Malthe,

Thanks for the feedback about Siri. I am working on integrating with the shortcuts app so you will be able to pass in a location and also (hopefully) receive outputs e.g. temperature, chance of rain etc

By Weather Gods (Scott) on Monday, October 21, 2019 - 15:59

Hi Holger,

How is Bella finding the app with iOS13 and WatchOS6, hopefully everything is working?

By BlackCat on Saturday, December 21, 2019 - 15:59

Hello
A couple of days ago I reported a Weather Gods Notification issue on the general Applevis forum:
I turned on summery notification to show every day at 6 AM using iPhone8+. When I discover the notification, VoiceOver replies: "Screen Kertain off. Screen Kertain on." I turned my phone off and on as well as turned VO off and back on. No luck. Then I set Weather Gods to run in the background and gone is my problems. I published this note here, because I lost the thread of messages after my first post. Weather Gods is 1 terrific app.

By Holger Fiallo on Saturday, December 21, 2019 - 15:59

I like it very much. I have it setup for 6:00 AM. Like at and I also have in my series 5. Maybe in the future it will be call Bella cat. Weather also known as Bella cat. She would like it.

By Jimmy V on Saturday, December 21, 2019 - 15:59

I just want to say I love weather gods, its the only one I use. I've used dark sky but this is better. Keep up the great work. Long live weather gods!

By Jimmy V on Saturday, December 21, 2019 - 15:59

what I love about this app also is, even when your connection isn't very strong, you still get notifications. I'm in an area where it can go from 3G to LTE at times and it still works. You are amazing!

By Holger Fiallo on Saturday, December 21, 2019 - 15:59

I also have one. I do not even use the one that come with the watch and the one in my iPhone, I deleted it or put it in the apple folder. I need to see. Like it and is great. It suppose to be much better the update that is coming out this month.

I am reading a lot of great feedback here, and, as a reminder, I hope you are giving Weather Gods some good ratings where it counts. Give it a 5 star rating in the App store.

By Ekaj on Thursday, May 21, 2020 - 15:59

Hello Scott and all. I just updated to version 2.4 latest build and like it so far. I have the severe weather alerts and other alerts turned on, let's hope they're working once again. I like the addition of separate volume sliders for each sound. WG is still my go-to 3rd-party weather app. You guys have done an awesome job and please keep it up!

By Cowboy on Thursday, May 21, 2020 - 15:59

I wish I could add my own weather station to it and see the information there. I currently have a weather station and hate having to go to a different ap to see it's information.

I also wish I could see the scientific discussions but hey you can't have it all.

Is there anyway to check what the weather is in another state or city even if you were not there? For example, my sister lives in Salt Lake City, while I live in Boston. So is there anyway to check on what her weather is like? I just downloaded this app today and I absolutely love it. When my stepfather was alive, he would always check the weather channel every eight or nine minutes it was called local on the eights I think it was and it was just the local forecast for our area. My mom and I used to tease him about it, we thought it might’ve had something to do with him being in the Air Force for so long and needing to know what the weather was when he went to refuel airplanes or work on them. Anyways enough rambling keep up the great work.

By Laura Tosetto on Sunday, June 21, 2020 - 15:59

Just double-tap the name of your city at the top of the main screen, and then double-tap the search button. Then you'll just have to type in Salt Lake City and select it from the results, and you'll be viewing what the weather is like in your sister's city. You can even add it to your favourites, so that you don't have to search it every time, and you can also set notifications for it, separately from your area. To add a location to your favourites, double-tap on the location name and find the location you want to add under the "recent places" heading. There will be a rotor action that says "Add to favourites". Just double-tap that and you're done.
Hope this helps

By Holger Fiallo on Sunday, June 21, 2020 - 15:59

Wish that we could share how the weather is doing with someone so they know the weather. For example if is nice in chicago and a friend is working and probably does not know how is the weather, I just can share how the day is doing.

By Holger Fiallo on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 15:59

Hope you are testing on iOS 14 and OS 7.Be cool to add WG on the home screen.

By KE7ZUM on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 15:59

As for the sharing, I take a screen cap and send it. Not accessible for the blind, but since most of my friends are sighted, that's what I do. Also do the same with alerts.

Most app have the feature of sharing. It will be nice instead of doing what you do.

By Jo Billard on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 15:59

The only problem i'm having is that there are some weather sounds I can't hear at all, like gentle breeze and any of the lower ones. I also would love to see an air quality index. I struggle with asthma and that would be really helpful. I highly recommend this app. It's really wonderful to have a weather app that is fun as well as useful.

By Holger Fiallo on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 15:59

Did you check the volume? Each god volume can be change. When the new version comes, the sound will be better. The beta is great. I am testing it.

I saw in earlier comments where siri shortcuts can be used in weather gods now, what can these shortcuts do?

Also, I do my app updates in the app store by hitting the account button where it says how many updates are available, where would I need to go to find out what's new in weather gods? I've had the app for a few years but since I didn't know about the shortcuts I'm wondering if there may be other things available in the app now that I'm not aware of.

By Jo Billard on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 15:59

I set the volume to 100 percent in settings. Are you referring to something else?

Just the volume in setting on the app.

By Jo Billard on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 15:59

In reply to by Holger Fiallo

Yes, that's the volume I'm talking about. It's at 100 percent, but when I play the individual sounds, the softer ones can't be heard at all.

By Dennis Long on Monday, December 21, 2020 - 15:59

I love Weather gods. It is highly accurate. In version 2.54 you can have the app start in favorites. This is an awesome feature. The ability to customize the notifications you receive is wonderful as well. This app is most definitely worth the price. I highly recommend this for your go to weather app.

By Ekaj on Thursday, September 21, 2023 - 15:59

Hi again all. I just wanted to say that I thought I'd get WG on my M1 MacBook Air this evening. So that is what I did, and everything's working as it should thus far. The sounds and music seem to be in stereo, which is incredibly cool. They even play on the lock screen, unlike iPhone! This is just using my internal speakers, but I'll also try it out with my external speakers which sadly enough are beginning to show their age. All righty then, I'm off to La-la Land.

By mcox on Thursday, September 21, 2023 - 15:59

Is there going to be a lifetime subscription? not that i'm aposed to paying per annum, but I was just wondering.
Thank you so much for a completely voice over accessible app!
I can't find a single part of the app that I can't use.
Sincerely,
Melissa Cox.

By Dominic on Thursday, September 21, 2023 - 15:59

It says paid in the free or paid section, but as far as I know it’s free now

By Kelly Pierce on Thursday, September 21, 2023 - 15:59

The developer must pay vendors for the weather data used. The charges for this data could be different in the future. This is why he is unlikely to offer a onetime payment. He uses the subscriptions to cover not only his development costs but for the weather data itself. There’s a lot of computing power behind the scenes used to deliver hyper local forecasts.

By Holger Fiallo on Thursday, September 21, 2023 - 15:59

The app is the best. How many of the developers take the time to make sure this app is 100% accessible and respond to input ASAP and works hard to listen to us. This app is worth the money. I am doing the beta so not paying but if I was not, would. Is getting better and better.

By Ekaj on Monday, October 14, 2024 - 15:59

Well said Holger. I just updated to the latest version of the app, and love being able to listen to different weather stations. I remember listening to these growing up, and it was always fun. I wonder if all these stations have switched from Dectalk to NeoSpeech, or just some of them? This app is a must-have imho, and I hope it stays around forever!
