I am trying to find out the differences between iPhone SE 2020 and 2022, the phone I have with me as a product red colour, but the other iPhone SE also has it. Both 2020 and 2022 models come with 64 GB. Type in both the model number and serial number, didn’t yield any results on Google

Essentially, the 2022 has a faster chip, I forget the model number. Of course they have the home button, I'll never understand why people flip out about it not being on most of the models now, but hey you be yourself. that's basically the difference.

I just typed your question into perplexity, and here is what it said.

The iPhone SE (2020) and the iPhone SE (2022) have many similarities in terms of design and screen. However, there are several differences between the two models. The iPhone SE (2022) has a more powerful A15 chip compared to the A13 chip found in the iPhone SE (2020). The newer model also has more durable glass, improved image and video quality, especially in low light, and 5G connectivity. The iPhone SE (2022) also has a slightly longer battery life, but it comes with a $30 higher starting price than the older model. Both models have a single rear 12MP camera and 7MP front camera, but the iPhone SE (2022) has several computational upgrades, including Smart HDR 4 and Deep Fusion. Overall, the iPhone SE (2022) is a slightly better option than the iPhone SE (2020) due to its superior chipset, but the differences between the two models are minimal.

So basically, it's got a better processor.

It really depends on what you want to do with it.

If I were to get one, I'd go with the later model.

In Australia, they usually have them on sale when it's back to school time, and some of those deals are pretty decent.

Yep. 2nd gen (2020) SE has an A13 chip but no 5g, and the 3rd gen (2022) SE has the newer A15 chip and is 5G capable.

Are you trying to figure out which iPhone SE you have? You can find that under settings>about and look under model number. There are actually two different ones here. Your phone first shows you the part number of your iPhone. You can find out a lot about your particular iPhone once you decode it. This Apple wiki page explains what all the letters and numbers mean and has a big table where you can look up your particular phone. It's a fascinating read!

In settings>about on your iPhone, if you tap on the model number, you will then see the much shorter model number of your phone. For example, my 12 mini is model A2176. I put that into google and got back a page that explains the differences between the regional and carrier variants of the 12 mini. Although curiously, my 12 mini part number matched up with Verizon, but I'm on AT&T.

I have the 2022 model in Product Red, but it's in a blue OtterBox that only shows a little red around the back facing camera. It's not really the home button we're flipping out over. It's the Face ID many of us don't like, and the fingerprint reader we do like. I was having trouble with the fingerprint around the time I upgraded phones, both on the old and the new phones, but I protect my phone finger a little more when working with certain tools and all is well now. The battery life and speed is much better than my iPhone 7.

The Face ID works well. The issue is that people do not like change or progress. If you do a good scan of your face, it works well while you are resting in your couch or bed. Is more secure.

I don't like what they changed it to, and it probably won't be offered in the future. That's why I put hand writing on my rotor, and silently use the passcode when necessary, or after slicing off my fingerprint with a chisel or sander. Even though it takes longer and requires more steps. That's how much I hate the concept of Face ID. After all, the phone forces you to use the code to unlock the phone from time to time, whether you use your face or your finger.

If you've got an identical twin, Face ID isn't really foolproof.

On the flip side, fingerprints are way more secure since not even an identical twin would share your unique prints.

Of course, it's pretty uncommon because most folks don't have an identical twin, but in my case, my sibling can unlock my phone with their own face.

My mum has an iPhone SE 2022, and my cousin has an iPhone SE but I’m trying to figure out if hers is the 2022 or 2020 model because the two literally look the same

There is no difference on the outside. I don't think it's possible without looking at the settings/about to tell an iPHone SE 2, 3, or iPhone 8 apart. The 7 that I last saw had the engraved Apple logo so you could feel it on the back of the phone, but I don't think the SE 2 or 3 have a raised shape of the Apple logo on the back. Maybe someone will show me otherwise...

Does it have service? If so, just check if it is on 5G or 5G compatible. Otherwise, its not a 3rd generation iPhone SE.
