Description of App

Soundscape- a 3D audio navigation app for the blind and visually-impaired, helping them to navigate complex environments with greater confidence and in greater safety

Soundscape uses 3D audio technology to help users with visual impairment build a fuller and more complete awareness of urban environments, giving them a richer understanding of where they are and what is around them. This in turn helps them to navigate with greater confidence and more independence. It allows users to search for destinations and store markers and route information that they can use to help guide them on their way to the places they need to reach.

I'm genuinely thrilled about the revival of the OG Soundscape, and it's inspiring to see so many individuals and groups stepping up to keep its functionality alive.

However, I now have four Soundscape clones on my iPhone, and it's become somewhat difficult to know which is which. It's a shame that so many committed and experienced people couldn't work together on a single, standout "killer" Soundscape clone.

I guess that choice is never a bad thing, though.

My bad. There are in fact only three Soundscape clones. I hadn't realised that one of the apps, Openscape, has moved from being a TestFlight-only release to now being available on the App Store. Not only is it now available from the App Store, but it's also changed name to Soundscape Community.

Did I mention that this series of Clone Wars is somewhat tricky to follow 😉

For now I have Voice Vista, and I can't see the point of adding anything else when the descriptions all look the same. To make things even more confusing, my Microsoft Soundscape still works, and I thought they'd be pulling the plug by now. Why would I even want Voice Vista if Soundscape still works, and has all of my old markers?

Open scape worked in my country, but now I even cannot find it in the App Store It purely is not worldwide. It does not exist in my country App Store. So only Four the few originally selected English-speaking countries.

It works all over the world and it is very easy to use. from what I gather, voice vista is even better than the old soundscape.

It's being updated constantly with new features and stuff. I'm quite happy about it.

It has turn by turn directions, something soundscape didn't have.

I've not tried it on a walk yet though, but I will.
