Apple Beta Releases

Hi, I was wondering if the IOS 17 public beta is stable enough to install on my main device. I have an iPhone XR and an iPad many 6 gen. My iPad is running IOS 17 beta 8. I’m thinking about updating my phone, or should I stick to my iPad?

Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms

Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.

If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

Hi. Personally I did install betas of both that and Mac OS. I'll never understand the curiosity of stable Os verses, can I questions, because I just assume responsibility and go for it. If your iPad works fine, then you shouldn't have any problem with the beta of IOS17 on your phone.

I installed the beta last week and just install the beta for the watch. Next week the RC should be release. I have no issues with the phone. Using 13 pro 128 GB. Very responsive, fast, and works well. Battery is good not great. I think the notification issue that I had is gone. FYI. Check accessibility, VO and verbosity and system notification to see if VO is selected. If you going to do it make sure you back your phone first.

I run public betas on my main device, but I know full well that something could go sideways, and I have a backup phone I could use.

It's hard to say what works for you. If you have the know-how of reverting in case something craps the bed, install it. If this sort of thing makes you nervous, don't install it. What may work for someone else may not work for you. Also, anybody's statement of accessibility may differ from yours. We all have different skill levels so keep that in mind as well.

We’re so close to release that anything thats broken now is likely still going to be broken in the final release. There might be 1 more beta but it will be the GM either this week or next. I’m glad I installed it. I was having so many problems in 16 and 17 beta has fixed the worst of them without introducing anything really nasty. There are a couple of niggles but nothing bad other than notes being completely broken.

I think it’s looking really good. I have been on it since the first public beta was made available. Only real bug I seem to have anymore is that focus jumps around a lot in the weather app. There were some previous bugs that got squashed in the home app, in safari, etc, but those all seem to have been taken care of. Quite happy with it. And as several have already pointed out, there’s probably nothing that’s broken that will actually get fixed in time for general release. I’d go for it if I were you.

On the watch: (I am using an Apple Watch Ultra) In the weather app there is a button called "Currently viewing" Which allows the view to be changed from conditions to temperature to humidity and more.
When I pick a different view, I am finding out that the view changes, but it still shows the title of the previous view.
Example, I pick conditions and see a summary of the current weather conditions.
I then change to humidity and the view changes, but it still shows conditions under the Currently viewing button Is this a bug that people have seen, or do I need to do a reset? Thanks.
