Apple Beta Releases

Hi all,
I have iOS 17 developer beta 8 installed and still am not getting notifications spoken automatically. I like this feature especially for text messages.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Messages sometimes doesn't speak and yet a notification for a British news app just went off. I'm not positive but I think there's a setting somewhere you can customize how it behaves. Personally, I kind of like not having a ton of notifications red out, yes I have a lot of apps lol. I'd like messages to be read though, but honestly I can't be bothered to customize it yet. Not sure if I will upon release. sorry i'm not more help.

Ok, notifications probably work as normal on the locked screen. If you want them to read out lout when unlocked then as stated go to verbosity system notifications and make sure badges is set to speak. If you have braille you can enable that as well. Or, you can set to haptic which is how I have them then tap the top left when you feel the vibration showing a notification has come in and you can read it. Also remember, if an app has a sound associated with it then that sound will still show on the homescreen.

I had this issue as well, until I went tto voice over, verbocity, then system notifications. Under system notifications, make sure the following 2 settings are correct:
1: set banner notifications to speak. 2: Make sure use ring switch is set to off, otherwise you're not going to hear notifications spoken if silent mode is turned on. Note: Silent mode is what they call mute now.
For some reason, these 2 settings were changed when I updated.
