I'm sick of people not looking at the facts or doing their research before posting shit like this! This has been going on long enough and it stops! The game has not been abandoned so I don't even know where you've heard that from. Second there has been no indication of such said thing posted anywhere unless it's something I don't know about. It would have been fine if it was posted as a question such as, is the game dead? but no... You had to state such nonsense facts. Do your freaking research people! If you're apart of groups, look. If you see activity, obviously, then no! Sorry if I come off this way but I've been seeing this be a problem here lately and this two, shall pass! And needs to stop! It's not that hard to google. 10 to 15 seconds at best! What are we 4 or something?

Swordy quest is very much alive. I just opened the app to confirm. I got my daily gift. I have to agree with what others are saying here before posting this type of information. The creator of this topic really needs to do their research and make sure that what they are posting is accurate information. It is my opinion, that posting this type of misinformation could actually harm the developer.

I haven't played the game since it first came out so I'm unaware of the community or developer or anything, but given that it was last updated in November of 2022 and all the justifications you all are giving for it still being in development, like event notifications, daily gifts, etc aren't evidence proving that it's not dead, since all of these systems are usually automated.
Yes, OK but people are still actively playing it, so to assume that there hasn’t been any update since November, so the game is dead really doesn’t make sense. The developer could be busy with work or other obligations.
If notifications are automatic, they would no longer be sent if the source is cut off. Would your hand still be able to reach out and grab someone if your body were dead and the arm cut off? No brain operation equals no limb operation. As mentioned before, I do not play the game, but if the game were dead, notifications would cease. After reading posts beyond mine, that opinion is only confirmed. People!!! Use common sense!!!
I played Swordy Quest for about 1.5 years. Though it is a great game, after a while, it got very repetitive to me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and can play what they want. However, I have moved on to another mainstream game called Farm RPG. It is like farming with friends, but so much more!! There is a forum topic as well as an app directory entry for it elsewhere on AppleVis. It is a free game. There are in-app purchases, as well as monthly Patreon support for those who want to contribute to further development. To each their own.

not longer than last week, I found an event and joined it- swordy quest birthday which doubled gathering resources and even some extra-food called "birthday cake".
Gems are still sold, everything works for me.
Then, yes, I have the opinion this game becomes boring too, as it has always the same way of playing with no proper challenges, that fact of gaining new territory by killing one thousand monsters -sharks and dragons- who's the crazy who goes to the same place and fight the same character type for ever and ever!
That's why I play very, very rarely.
I play it every day, especially the pvp part of the game, which uses game center

It is true that now I am playing Farm RPG but, nevertheless, this game is one of my favorites.
I think events are done manually. I could be wrong though but judging by if the dev has to update the game just to make some what events available and work properly, yep! I know the gifts are done automatically though that's for sure. I'm a coder myself so yeah, kind of know what's going on here if I'm not wrong on all counts. Makes cense.

Swordy Quest isn't the only app that still works without receiving updates for a long time. OoTunes is also in the same situation, but that app is still functioning well. I assume that most features for these apps are server-side, so updates are likely only needed for maintenance purposes.

I could make something like that, like, if certain periot of time passes, send a notification to everyone, make an event.
