Seeing Eye GPS

I purchased a one-year subscription to the new Seeing Eye GPS. While I realize there are going to be ongoing improvements, I am somewhat disappointed. I took a walk with it and the GPS, while identifying a lot of POIs, failed to identify some major intersections. I also tried entering a route, and the GPS did not notify me of upcoming turns. I found that Apple Maps did a better job of both identifying where I was, and detailing routes. I'm not sure if it the way I am using the GPS, or if this is just an early version. I am still hopeful that future enhancements will correct these problems and provide useful features such as allowing the App to be self-voicing and run in lock screen mode.

When I took Seeing Eye GPS for a walk, my results were similar. It also wasn't accurate at all with giving my location; BlindSquare is right on, but Seeing Eye GPS was off significantly (by more than just a few feet).

Take a look at the podcast at this link. He does not do walking but you can maybe talk to him as he knows a lot about the app. If not he might be able to put you in contact wiht the company, or you can contact them as I don't' use gps stuff anymore. Hope that helps some what. But the podcast is very good and deserves a listen to see if you are missing anything.
