Just curious what weather apps people are recommending and using these days that work well with Voiceover.
Here are some features that I consider iportant:
- Accessible and easily useable with Voiceover
- Notifications of impending weather events such as rain, snow, storm, etc.
- Daily summaries
- A nice clean and unclutterd interface
- I don't mind ads but would shy away from an app that has a subscription to obtain the above features.
Thanks for any recommendations.

weather gods
Weather gods is still number 1.
Weather Gods
Yes, I have been using Weather Gods for some time. Although I used to get rain and other weather alerts, I think that is a paid feature now.
I have also tried The Weather Channel which uses ads to fund their free version. I do get such alerts, but the program seems really bloated and takes a long time to open up.
Guess I'll keep using Weather Gods and think about subscribing to help fund its development
Thanks.

Apple's weather app
This also works well with voiceover.
Re: Apple's weather app
Yes, I also like Apple's weather app. It works very well with Voiceover and has a very clean and uncluttered UI. Unfortunately I don't think there is a way of having the user notified of upcoming weather events like rain or a storm. Nice to have a head's up if one is going out on a hike.
Thanks.

Carrot Weather
I use both Weather Gods and Carrot Weather. I like Carrot because of the lightning alerts.
Carrot Weather and Yr.no
CARROT have support for different sources, and Yr is the reliable dsource.
Apple weather, weather gods in current weather
I like carrots because of its personality, weather gods because it’s information, and the Apple weather app for usage of the
WG
Love the hour report on my watch. This app is getting better and better. How many apps get a ASAP response from the developer? Scot does it even so he is Success. WG is the one. Scott busy. Long live the App. If you have not got it, get it.listen to input and respond and also if you have a good suggestion, he will listen. The app is getting much better and reports the weather well. Widgets are great. Is worth it.
Weather App
The native Weather app does let you know when it is going to rain. You have to turn that on in notifications for this to work. They are using Dark Sky's algorithms. it works great!
Apple Weather app notifications
I tried to find an item about the native Apple Weather app in the Settings / Notifications dialog but didn't see an entry for Weather. Is it called something else?
I also looked in the app itself and didn't see any menu or settings button for choosing settings or notifications. I didn't realize the native app could send notifications but it seems like that should be a feature.
Any hints how to find this setting?
Thanks.

Settings for Apple Weather Alerts
I found where to set the notifications for the Apple Weather app:
https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/manage-weather-notifications-iph39ae9474a/ios
Here is the process:
1. Open the Weather app
2. Activate the list of cities button at the bottom right of the dialog
3. Activate the "More" button.
4. There will be a "Notifications" button. After you activate that there is a dialog to turn/off notifications.
I tried nooking for this under Settings/Notifications but it was not there as I thought it would be. Anyway, this should work.
Hope that helps others. Apple seems to have buried this feature!

nobody likes weather mate pro, why?

WG Widgets?
Hi everyone. Don't believe I've posted yet in this thread or perhaps, lol. But I like Apple's native weather app and Weather Gods. In fact I recently sent some family members one of the new animated stickers for Weather Gods. We were having a group chat as we frequently do, and my nephew checked the air quality for the area in which he lives. His sister, a.k.a., my niece also sent some sort of pic which I ran through Seeing AI. Forget what it was, but that's beside the point. These WG stickers seem to be pretty cool though, pun literally intended! Long live the goddesses and gods of weather!
Premium Features
Hi Peter
I you are a long time user of weather gods, then it's likely you are grandfathered or eligible for grandfathering.
Feel free to send me a feedback email from within the app (in settings) and I can investigate for you. It would give you the weather alerts, daily summaries, widgets and more.
Cheers
Scott
Re: Premium features
Scott,
Thanks for the reminder. When I switched phones I forgot to update the old subscription status in the app. Yes, I apparently was grandfathered and I am now getting alerts as before.
Interesting, although I am getting weather alerts, I do not seem to be getting the morning and eveing notifications of the day's weather which I have set. I did try resetting notifications in the app twice. I'll dig into this a bit more and get back to you if I can't fix the morning and evening notifications.
Thanks and hope all is going well.
