macOS and Mac Apps
My high school student will be taking calculus in the coming school year. The school will be using TI-nspire CAS calculator. Has anyone found accessible graphing calculators compatible with Macs? Especially need one that can handle limits and trig graphs.

Hi BrailleTeach, As far as I know, there aren't any fully-featured advanced calculators for either Mac or iOS that work with VO. There are a few apps that can solve cubic equations, and they help, but I don't think that's what you're looking for. Really sorry to disappoint; I'm a physics major and want one really badly, too. As far as your student goes, is there anything I can do to help? My calc class in high school relied heavily upon graphing calculators as well. while I got through it--I had other problems--the calculator aspect sure made things a lot harder than they needed to be. If your student plans to go on in science/a STEM subject, he or she will need to not rely on a calculator for college calculus anyway. I know Orbit and APH have developed a stand-alone TI84 with modifications, but don't know exactly when it will be out. They say by the start of this school year, and they were showing it off at the conventions. If you have any other math or technology questions related to how your student can succeed in this class, message me and we can start a conversation. Thanks, Chelsea Virginia tech Student
