Is anyone else having problems with voiceover focus?

I'm running the latest iOS on an iPhone Xr. The voiceover focus isn't staying where I put it. When I try to read something, it just randomly goes back to the top of the page every minute or so. This is particularly problematic on the lifeline game with Taylor in the time rift because of the way the app is designed to have the story show continuously. Every time a new message comes in, it scrolls the log all the way back to the top, and if I try to scroll back down through to where the new text is, the phone randomly returns to the top so I can't scroll down far enough even when there's no further text coming in. It doesn't matter what position the phone is in. I've tried both holding it and laying it flat on a table where no random motion of mine should be causing anything to scroll. Is there some setting I should change?

Hello P.A. Yes I have the same issue especially in Amazon. Suddenly focus will go back to the top. Hopefully this will be fixed in iOS 17. I wonder if the testers are having this same issue?

On my iPad six generation running iOS 16.5, this doesn’t happen on my iPhone SE running iOS 17

For me VoiceOver focus goes to the status bar where the time, network strength and battery is displayed. This happens randomly and usually happens when opening an app. either from the home screen or app. switcher. I have escalated this to apple support but they have no idea what is going on!

I've never been able to precisely pinpoint when this happens, but VoiceOver focus jumps back to the top on any number of apps on iOS 16. Actually, it's been a problem even before that.

Maybe it's time for a class action lawsuit against Apple.

I'm retired from practicing law. It occurs to me that Apple may be commiting unlawful trade practices by making false claims about the quality and condition of the accessibility and usefulness of its iPhones and IOS. If Apple doesn't act soon to correct this problem, it could definitely get a public image black eye.

Hello,
The only game I've had this issue on was Galactic Collonies. When it happens, though, I just go to the mission statement and scroll rightward from there. By the way, and this is off topic a bit, don't put Galactic Collonies in landscape mode/app doesn't want to open at all during this. just keep it as portrait orientation and use your phone in landscape mode. more later, but it helps the phone physically not spin, especially if you've got one of those pop scokets onboard and are charging the unit, too. I'd suggest it again to Apple but wouldn't take it to courts unless you think it's a better decision. It might be better under the ADA laws SOMEHOW, BUT i dount you'd get a case loaded before U.S S.CT--United States Supreme Court, that is. I'm not sure, but I would think this would deal with the 21st Century Telecommunications and Video Accessibility Act ... I believe. not a lawier here, but I did study ADA/SPED law a bit for my MSED--Masters of science in special education. I've notified Apple about the status bar issue too, and they say to just do a two-finger scrub/usually doesn't work to make status bar dissappear, though. After updating your phones, all of you, please restart the unit. I don't care if it's just an app update. it might make your phones work better. you know that you can also and always send log data to Apple when issues occure/have screen recordings of your stuff sent to them through Maildrop?.

I am having a similar problem on my iPhone 13 mini running the latest version of iOS 16. As well, I have a problem where some buttons are skipped while I am swiping left or right. For example.U I will have the focus in the edit field of a message within the messages application, and I swipe right to navigate to the send button. and it always skips the send button and starts swiping through the keyboard. This happens every time and I don’t know what’s going on, going to call Apple today just haven’t had the time.
