Is there a way to make it so that all of the iPad screen shows one thing and not to?

Hi
Is there a way that I can make it so the entire iPad screen will only show one thing that I’m doing instead of two things?
I could be in the settings app, then I could invoke Siri, how’s the screen, which shows settings, but the other half which is Siri.
Is there a way to tennis off because it’s very, very, very annoying. In my opinion.

I’m not sure I understand your post correctly, but it sounds like you might have toggled Split Screen? To check this or turn it off if so, go to Settings, then Multitasking and Gestures, then at the top under Multitasking are three buttons for Off, Split Screen & Slide Over, and Stage Manager. Off turns off both Split Screen and Stage Manager.

Here is an example, open outlook, invokes, Siri, Siri call mum
I don’t have iPad, six generation, 2018, running iOS 16 I don’t have split screen

Sorry about that. There doesn’t seem to be anything in the Siri settings to address what you’re saying.

Unfortunately, iPadOS has many of that overlay and split screen stuff built-in and VoiceOver have many problems with such things on iPad. The best thing you could do is to contact Apple Accessibility and write them about the problems. That's actually a reason why I gave up on iPad early 2021 and got an M1 Mac instead. there, all works more comfortable and VoiceOver is optimized for such UI.

The problem here is that an iPad is not an iPhone. The idea behind this is that you can invoke Siri while working, and still see what you're working on and not jump out of your context. At least on this iPad in landscape mode, the Siri window always appears in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, not sure about portrait.

The way to deal with it is to know that and just move your hand straight to where you know it will appear, or as close as you can. That's true of anything on an iPad, really. Learn where things are and life gets a lot easier.

I'm afraid that Accessibility isn't going to be able to do anything much about this, and as a primary iPad user I wouldn't want them to. Having a giant screen with just Siri in the middle doesn't really make any sense.

Apple designs products for the average user, average should be in air quotes, to use easily enough. Need help adding a contact? No big thing. Need help getting email on your phone or iPad? No problem. However, I swear to all that is good on this Earth, you manage somehow to do things my soon to be 87 year old dear old father still can't do then asks, what's going on? This is not limited to my dead mother getting a CC request this evening in the mail. I'd say go back to the iPad tutorial and really know what you dive into before just jumping off the high dive. Ok? just, wow...

I was just asking, you know because it was kind of annoying me, and it ain’t like I want to use a MacBook again for school
First off, my VI has more training on iPads then on max when it comes to accessibility
Next, iPad so all I need, a small, slick and thin design, small small nice display, long battery life, ATC

I actually did find a way to fix this for Siri on an iPad at least. In settings, accessibility, Siri, there's a show apps behind siri option. Turn this off and Siri should be by itself on screen.

Somehow, I missed looking for it in Accessibility. Hard to tell sometimes what would be considered a "general" vs. "accessibility" setting!

I have to admit I ran into this completely by accident while doing something else, ☺️. Yet another reason to always check accessibility settings whether you think there'll be anything in there or not.
