Okay, youtube was working alright for me till this morning but suddenly VO is reading nothing, no buttens are accessible and basically I can't do anything with the app. Don't know what is happening; I don't suppose I accedentally changed some settings...?

The website is screwed so it doesn't surprise me that it's now coming to the app.

That can cause similar issues to what you’re describing in YouTube or it has in the past.

I've not updated youtube, I might try it later on and see what happens.

Actually, I did check screen recognition. It was turned on earlier and it continues to be. optimally, what should be it's status? I'm kind of just only starting out with Ios...

screen recognition is designed to make inaccessible apps more accessible, though that varys on the app you use it with. it is not designed to be on all the time. it's for spesific apps which are not natively accessible. it should be off most of the time, and on for an app by app bases.

Tried turning off screen recognition but voiceover continues to behave weirdly. Tried updating/deleting and re-downloading, but nothing seems to work.
