Hi guys! I'm just curious to see what banks everyone uses and how accessible their apps are. I have Consumer's Credit union as my primary bank and their app is kind of clunky, but because of the Able accounts, I've had experience with the 5th third app which is a lot better when it comes to accessibility.
Comments
BOFA
BOFA takes accessibility very seriously, there's nothing weird. Bank of america if you didn't understand the abreviation.
Barclays
I have been using the Barclays app for some years now and I have to say that I haven't had a single problem where accessibility is concerned. I can view my current statement and pay and transfer money in to other accounts. I can also set spending limits on my card as well as Daily Cash withdrawals.
Canadian banks
I've used BMO and Tangerine with a great deal of success. If anyone else here has used Tangerine, I'd love to hear your experiences.
Re: Canadian Banks
I love the CIBC app and have had no problems with it. I pay bills and transfer money and get text alerts when a transaction goes over a predetermined amount, as well as if my balance goes below a certain amount.
Two accessible bank apps.
I have used Fifth Third also and PNC with no problems. I can set up alerts, check my balances, etc.
Hurrah for Barclays!
Another barclays customer here. Brilliant app, always very accessible. I do remember some years ago there was an app update which broke Voiceover. Soon as they realised they included this in their release notes and fixed it within three days at most.
Canadian Banks
I love my CIBC app also. Very accessible and a close friend of mine uses Royal Bank and she does all her banking on their app. We both love the Interac transfers which are 100% accessible.
I use Chase
I have used Chase for a number of years. The Chase app is very accessible. I do everything from checking account balances, paying bills, transferring funds, and occasionally sending or receiving funds via Zell. Years ago, the calendar wasn't accessible to schedule payments, but the was fixed long ago. I honestly cannot think of a single accessibility issue with the Chase app today.
Chime
A few screens are just a little bit fiddly but the Chime app is, for the most part, wonderful to use. Also, if you write the team with accessibility bugs they'll be fixed fairly quickly
From SBanken to Bulder
I have been using SBanken for years, which did it well both in accessibility and customer satisfaction. But after being bought by DNB, the largest bank in Norway, the will stop having accesss to Apple Pay, which lead me to change.
Then I am changing over to Bulder Bank, which is accessibility wise quite nice.
I also use Curve, which collects my card usage, and give an oversight over how I spend my money.
This is all in Norway.
Norwegian banks
I'm also a Sbanken customer.
Great app and web site - 100% accessible.
I'm still gonna stick with Sbanken for now since I also use Bank Norwegian and Re:member which both have Apple Pay.
I've canceled my Sbanken credit card since they are going to drop Apple Pay but as I said I already have two more credit cards with Bank Norwegian and Re:member.
Both Bank Norwegian and Re:member apps are also very accessible.
Another barclays person.
I've been using barclays for years and it works fine.
There's a tiny issue where a button is dimmed when its not meant to be but I can't be bothered to report it because it works fine.
British bank perspective
No specific order, bank apps in the UK that I use I use Lloyds and Halifax which are very accessible and I also use Wise and Revolut and have used chase which is pretty accessible as well.
