Hey y’all
Leelon on strongly! Considering buying an iPad generation. It’s 447 Australian Officeworks, has 64 GB and that’s for the Wi-Fi model
As I don’t need a cellular connection, most of the time, I think this will be suitable enough for school use
But what do I do
Should I purchase an Apple smart keyboard with it on Apple magic keyboard with it,, what about pens and pencils for the teachers if they ever need to write stuff down real quick for me using a pencil if like PowerPoint require drawing
I know battery life is good but, yeah
What are the pros and cons of that iPad, I heard it doesn’t have a headphone jack
Other any iPads that have a headphone jack that I could possibly look at. The headphone jack is essential for my schoolwork, as in some situations when I’m doing schoolwork I can’t have my voice blaring out and I don’t like my voice at low volumes, and as for Bluetooth headphones that’s out of the question. The lag, the lag, and the fact that you can only get sometimes between five hours or more on a Bluetooth headphone charge and mind you I have six hours of schoolwork or maybe more plus using it in the taxi
So it’s essential for me to have headphones Jack
I’m fine for USB but I really do need a headphone jack
So are there any headphone jack iPads that have the USB port so I can use my MacBook Air charger and one with my iPad whilst using headphones

I'm assuming the $477 one is the iPad 9th generation. That's the one I have, roughly the same price when it was on sale from JB HiFi. It has a headphone jack, so that's not a worry, but won't work with the Magic Keyboard.

Maybe this is my own issue, but the Smart Keyboard doesn't work very well. It'll work for a bit and type regularly, and then it'll throw up the Spotlight when I press the space bar or go home when I press H, for example. I have turned off Full Keyboard Access and also had the same issue with my iPad Pro 10.5 and Logitech Slim Folio case. Just something to keep in mind, but maybe it'll work for you.

I have it and FYI is not the sane as having a laptop, I use a logitech slin folio that has a great keyboard and is only 90$ the last time I check. The iPad does have a jackhead for plugging a headset. Battery is great. I originally got a 64 GB but was not enough so I end up getting 128 GB. The folio is bluetooth. Sad apple does not make the use of a keyboard easy to use. It is an apple thing and not a keyboard thing. Good luck whatever you get.

I understand the benefit of an iPhone and a laptop. I've never understood the benefit of an iPad.

More recently, it's harder for me to justify the laptop, assuming the iPhone can work well with a keyboard. And no, battery life isn't a benefit. There are lots of iPhone battery cases. I have six of them, plus 2 power banks.

There are little to no training documents on how to use the Mac using VoiceOver which means it won’t be able to really help my IT department if something went wrong but for the iPad my school has documents upon documents upon documents voice training for the iPad
All teachers and teachers sometimes go to these meetings with accompany to learn how to use an iPad with VoiceOver but I don’t think that is worth the Mac
Not only that but my IT department has a hands up advantage because more people know how to use the iPad than the Mac
Nilan even though some of my teachers use Mac laptops or desktops at home, they don’t use voice on them because they’re all sided
, they don’t know what to do, say the cutter is jumping around
Battery life is also pretty trashy on my 2017 MacBook, so after this year once I handed my loans Dell laptop from the school I’ll see about getting that $450 iPad
I can use it for both and work, use Apple smart keyboard, use my headphones, sync it with my Google account which is also now to my iCloud email, and it’s light white and I don’t need a heck laptop bag to carry it, when I can get those cases where the keyboard slides under and there’s a soldier strap if there is any of those if so I really would like to hear experiences with them
Not only that I’ve heard the touch ideas in the power button which will be useful because I have an M1 MacBook Air with touch ID in the power button and my galaxy phone has touch ID in the power button

The only issue I have is that apple makes it hard to use a bluetooth keyboard. If you are typing, sometimes you lose focus and the split screen tend to pop up and push you out of where you typing. Maybe iOS 17 be better with it.

macfortheblind.com has audio tutorials, plus tutoring.
Mac competence may be necessary for employment.
Power banks greatly extend the life of batteries.
Laptops have built in keyboards that don't have connection issues.
Mac laptop apps more seamlessly interact with other Macs than with iPads.

Smile. Mind, I completely understand the lure of new gadgets, so, May you have lots of fun with your brand new iPad! You'll inevitably get around to buying a Mac. It's in your destiny.

A lot of workplaces don't use Mac, unless you're going into a creative field.
I definitely recommend trying the iPad - maybe go to an Apple Store if you can and playing around with them?
I feel like it might be more challenging to get schoolwork done on an iPad, but as long as you have a computer you can use at home just in case, you'd be fine.
I'm also having that keyboard issue where focus jumps to the split screen button, but on an Apple Smart Keyboard, so it's not just Bluetooth keyboards.

I have played around with iPads before, I’ve played with a relatives iPad mini 2019 whilst I also have a 32 GB iPad six from 2018
I like the iPads but they battery life, easy biometric authentication, and performance
Not to mention that I like the sink between Apple products
