Non English speakers exist, and some of us are Apple developers :)

Greetings. For years, I’ve contributed to this community as best I could - answering questions, sharing opinions, and offering to translate or create relevant content, whether in podcast or text form, to assist Spanish speakers within our community. However, the Applevis team has always informed me that this was not possible, as the team wouldn’t be able to verify the content’s accuracy due to a lack of Spanish-speaking moderators. I understand Applevis’ position and this has been the situation for years.

However, this morning, I tried to share an episode of a podcast on the Vision Pro, an episode in Spanish which I myself recorded, and it appears that this too violates the community’s rules. In essence, it seems that content not in English is not allowed, since Applevis “cannot vouch for its quality”, but they also cannot support the large percentage of the world’s population that doesn’t speak English or is not fluent in it. Not even a subforum for non-native speakers needing to consult or request help is considered.

Moreover, it seems unrealistic to expect anyone to create and maintain an Applevis alternative in their own language. Therefore, although I am aware that my decision will likely go unnoticed, I have decided to stop actively contributing and supporting a community that claims to be diverse but shows no interest in non-English speakers. I extend my full support to the wonderful individuals who use Applevis, but I can’t agree with such restrictive policies.

Hopefully, this will trigger some conversation on the matter. Thank you, and enjoy your time here.

I’m sorry but yeah. I honestly have to agree with the writer of this post here
I understand the position that this community is in, however
Here are some reasoning to why I agree with the author of this post
One
This post creator has offered time and time again suggestions
To help
To contribute to the side in his own manner of speaking
Next
You put this into consideration is using translation software
It might be more cumbersome to do so but maybe contact some people who you think might speak Spanish and maybe you know !?., let them run the sub form here just like how you did the Apple beater releases
and while we’re on that topic, it seems that the moderators removed my post detailing some issues that I had with the site over choosing the form on topic
I’m not against any of the moderators here, but I think now the times non-English speakers to stand up for themselves and fight for what’s right

Alan,

I'm sorry to hear that you are upset about the removal of your post. It seems there may have been a miscommunication or misunderstanding about the reason behind it. Let me provide some clarification:

The removal of your post was not related to the language of the podcast or your native language.

For clarity and transparency, I will paste below the actual message that you were sent:

Hello Alan,

We regret to inform you that your recent forum post has been removed as it does not align with our posting guidelines. Our community guidelines ask members not to use AppleVis as a platform for promoting or discussing their own websites, podcasts, YouTube channels, mailing lists, or other online resources.

However, there is an exception to this rule. If your resource provides information that is relevant and likely to be of interest and value to the community, you may post about it in an existing discussion. For example, if someone is asking for help on using an app, and you have a podcast on your website that provides relevant information, it would be appropriate to direct them to it.

We understand that this may be disappointing, but it is important for us to apply this guideline consistently to ensure that our community remains focused and productive. In the past, we've had members who use our platform as a billboard and contribute nothing to the community. Consistently applying our guidelines makes it easier to justify the removal of similar posts in the future.

For reference, our guidelines can be found here: https://www.applevis.com/help

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining the integrity and value of AppleVis to the community.

Best regards, The AppleVis Editorial Team

Accordingly, it would have been completely fine for you to direct people to your podcast by posting a reply to one of the existing discussions about the Apple Vision Pro headset.

I hope this clarification clears up any confusion and prevents people from being misled.

Additionally, I understand that you may have hoped for a different response, but I regret to inform you that implementing multi-lingual support on AppleVis, where people can post in their native language, remains unfeasible.
