Hello everyone,
I hope you're all doing well. I'm currently using macOS Ventura 13.4, the latest version available.
I've been trying to access detailed information about apps on the App Store using VoiceOver, but I haven't had much success. When I click on the name of an app, VoiceOver attempts to purchase it or re-download it if it's already been purchased but not downloaded.
I was wondering if any of you have encountered a similar issue or have found a way to view app information without triggering the purchase or download process. It would be really helpful for me to have access to the descriptions, ratings, and reviews before deciding to download or purchase an app.
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance for your help!
Best regards,
~Sadik

To view information for an app in the AppStore, place VoiceOver focus on it, route the mouse pointer to it by pressing VO-Command-F5, (or VO-Globe-5 if you're using a Mac with a Touch Bar) and click the mouse. The product page should then open.
Re: Accessing app information on the App Store using VoiceOver
Hello Tyler,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and provide your suggestion. I truly appreciate your assistance. I followed your instructions, but unfortunately, it didn't seem to work as expected. When I placed VoiceOver focus on an app and pressed VO-Command-F5 to route the mouse pointer, clicking the mouse still triggered the purchase or re-download process instead of opening the product page.
I'm wondering if there might be any other settings or steps I need to consider. If you have any additional suggestions or if there are any alternative methods you know of, I would be grateful for your guidance.
Once again, thank you for your help. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Sadik

How are you locating the app in question? Are you finding it on the featured page, searching for it, or finding it in your purchase history?

Hello Tyler,
I want to apologise for my previous message. It turns out I made a mistake while trying out your suggestion. Instead of clicking the mouse as you described, I was mistakenly invoking the VO-Space command, which performs the default action on the item where the VoiceOver cursor is located.
I retried your method, following your instructions precisely, and I'm happy to report that it worked! Placing VoiceOver focus on an app, routing the mouse pointer to it using VO-Command-F5, and then pressing VO-Shift-Space to click the mouse allowed me to successfully open the product page.
Thank you so much for your helpful guidance. I greatly appreciate your patience and for pointing me in the right direction. Your assistance has made a significant difference in my ability to access app information on the App Store using VoiceOver.
Once again, I apologise for the confusion caused by my previous message. Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
Sadik
