Abnormally high battery drain on MacBook Air, 2017

As of today my MacBook Air, 2017, has suffered extreme battery drops MacBook Air 2017. Running macOS 12.6.
I checked activity monitor, and spotlight was the one that was taken the most battery, I first close the application, but battery still going down fast

I have a MacBook Air 2015. I have the same issue, my battery doesn’t last more than five minutes if it’s not plugged in. I think overtime, the batteries just can’t hold charge, and get worn. It may be a good idea to replace your battery. Other solutions could be checking your battery statistics in the system preferences. You might be able to turn something on brightness that will help make your battery last longer.

Did you notice this excessive battery drain by Spotlight immediately after applying an update? If so, you may want to give it an hour or two to finish before performing any troubleshooting. If the Mac wasn't updated recently, restarting it may cause the battery drain to stabilize. If it doesn't, the index may have become corrupted, in which case you'll need to rebuild it. To do this:

  1. Open System Preferences > Spotlight, and click the Privacy tab.
  2. Add your startup disk, usually called Macintosh HD, to the list of excluded locations, and then remove it.
  3. Quit System Preferences; Spotlight should then begin to reindex your hard drive. During this process, you may want to keep your Mac plugged into power to avoid excessive battery drain. When reindexing is complete, Spotlight's energy impact should stabilize.

Usually I would get through an entire school day without any issues with battery, but today was a different story. All I do is.
Go on Safari.
Go on one note.
Go on Outlook
Go on Word.
Do some texting.
I download Google Chrome.

I do some stuff with Logic Pro.

Let’s not forget the other issues that I have.
I was reading a word document today, and VoiceOver completely froze, the computer, I’m not even kidding. Preston the arrow keys didn’t get any VoiceOver feedback at all, it was literally frozen.
Okay I don’t know what happened to that one.
Thinking about putting all of my data onto USB hard drive and resetting it, but then finding a bootable USB disk image of macOS High Sierra, if my Mac will support it. 2017 MacBook Air, 8 GB ram,
128 GB SSD

That’s my friend is what do you call a massive scrap over the battery?
If I had the choice I will take my 2020 MacBook Air, which is Apple and one silicon processor, battery life on that thing is phenomenal! But my music teacher doesn’t want me taking it unless I break it, I don’t break things any more! So I’m a little bit upset about that.
