Accessibility Comments

This app is simple and accessible.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

I've been unable to find much documentation, but this app is fairly self-explanatory. It's possible to play a book directly from a zip archive. And controlling playback through airPods remote control works as expected.

For Voiceover users, "tap" in the steps below refer to a single-finger double-tap.

To import an audiobook into BookPlayer:

1. From the BookPlayer main screen, tap the Add button at the bottom of the screen.

2. Tap Import files.

3. Tap the Browse (Back) button at the top left of the screen.

4. Tap Dropbox or other location where your zipped book resides.

5. Tap the file you want to download.

6. Tap the Open button at the top right of the screen.

7. Tap the Done button on the resulting popup screen.

You will want to perform the following steps on a downloaded book folder/zip file so it will be treated as a single audiobook by BookPlayer.

To convert the audiobook from a folder to a volume:

1. Select the title (folder) from the list of downloaded audiobooks in your library.

2. Flick down and tap Options from the actions rotor.

3. Tap Combine Into Volume from the menu.

I'm really appreciating this BookPlayer app for its simplicity and its support of the remote control feature of second generation airPods.

I love it as well! I used it for playing a book in M4B format a while ago. Compared to the native books app, this one handles importing much more gracefully

Sincere thanks for sharing this app.
Finally, there are still apps with a minimal, simple interface, as it should be.
it is simply excellent at what it does.

It's a missing piece, and essentially it's because Apple's Books app doesn't support importing on-device, only via iTunes/Finder syncing. If they did, probably I wouldn't need this app! As it is, so glad it exists.
