Hi. I did some searching before I posted this so sorry if it has been discussed. What are the possibilities of in the future creating an application for applevis? that way when we want to add an application to the directory or post to the forums on the go we would have that ability. Just an idea.

Hello Jim, Thanks for the suggestion. As much we would love to offer an AppleVis app. We simply just can't at this time. Believe me we would love to have such an app for our users. This idea has been tossed around the team many times. It is one of the most asked question i get as well. In short. AppleVis is a very complicated site to run. In order for what we would want from an AppleVis app. It would require a lot of hours to make something we would feel be perfect for our users. This would cost quite a bit of money. NOt just to start the project but to be able to maintain the app for time to come. Because that AppleVis is a non-profit site and that all of us are doing this as a voluteer work. We do not have the cash nor the funds to even implement this. However, we are always open to suggestions in how we could make this a reality. We never want nor will we ever close the door to the idea. We want that AppleVis app as much as you do! :) So for now we have this on our backburner but thank you ever so much for expressing your thoughts. We love the idea. So I hope this answer your question in short. :)

Personally, I find AppleVis exceptionally easy to use on both my iPhone and iPad as well as on my desktop computer. If anyone ever does decide they have the time and/or money to put into such an app, I hope they do something worthwhile with it instead. If anyone does struggle to use the site on an iOS device, I am happy to share any tips and tricks I have.

Wait.... What happened Thomas to the app we were developing that we were going to charge $299 for? LOL. I'm kidding of course. This is a topic that the Editorial Staff have discussed with various developers over the past year or so, but nothing that would meet our standards has surfaced as of yet. And as has already been pointed out, the site plays very nicely with web browsers. What I have done is added the site to my home screen on my phone, and it works well, aside from the bug in iOS 6 with heading navigation and Safari.

Well, the only thing that's bugging me about using the web-site on my iPhone, is the well known issue that's causing problems with activating textfields for editing. I usually get one chance to bring up the keyboard, and make the edit field active, and I might get lucky to get another chance a few times... That's why, when posting comments and replying to forumposts, I'll always have to begin with the comment-field, and if I'm lucky, I might get a chance to fill in the subject-field afterwards. But usualy, my luck ends after the comment field... But this isn't the right place for nagging about that issue, at least not the right forumpost... AND I know you're aware of the bug. The wierd thing is that I haven't seen this behaviour on any other websites.... Other than that, the website and mobile safari works like a charm! :) All the best! Cliff
This is probably be the wrong area to post this, but to add to my application idea, it would be nice if you could reply to the email you get for subscriptions to comment. I also have your issue with the keyboard.
