No. At least I can detect no changes. Unfortunately it still sounds as boxy and muffled as before, and *Geemail* is still, well, *gmale*.

The thing I hate the most about eloquence in its current state on iOS/iPadOS/macOS is the fact that you cannot control the speed accurately between 45 and 55 percent. It's either too fast or too slow for me as any changes in this range seem to not have an effect.

Though I quit Eloquence as I liked it sounding as good as it did in JFW 3.2 I have an idea why it may not sound as good on IOS etc. Apple licensed it from, I don't remember the name of the company now for however much money. I wonder if they were only allowed to license the version at a much lower quality then the one on Code factory phones back in the day. as I said I haven't used eloquence in years because I'd rather use Alex, but I am now curious if that might be at least part of the reason. Man do I wish apple stopped focusing on shiny objects and went back to developing real software again.

I love having eloquence on my primary mobile OS again, even though there are some quirks at present. For me it sounds great with a rate at 85%, but I feel like it becomes a little muddy at 86 and above, also if the volume on the speaker is too high.

Hi,
In the current betas of 16.4, eloquence can’t even say it’s own name, when selected. It reads everything else though. Definitely a bizarre bug.

eloquence was high quolity in iOS 16 developer beta 5. I did post to spread my opinion. at that point in time,Beta testers had an aversion to it in this community disagreed with me, filed reports, and since so many people disliked it, apple reverted to eloquence as it was in the previous beta. that is why it is what it is now.

May we agree to disagree? It wasn't higher-quality in Dev Beta 5 - - it was just emphasizing high frequencies with serious mid/low-frequency issues. So, on higher-end iPhones, it sounded toy-like and disturbing. But Apple simply reverted the change rather than optimizing the algorithm.

I agree with amir. To me it sounded as if it was lower quality in 16.5, to be honest.
I feel like this really depends, however. I mean, if your using code factory's elequense as your main voice, then this one, I believe its the same one, so its no difference from what your used to but, if your using jaws elequence or another version yeah I can see why this one might sound... different.

when I was beta testing iOS 16, I had an iPhone SE, Second Generation, which is quite a low end phone. it onisly sounded better, but then my speakers were bad. there was a lot of pops when works with ess were spoken, and now that I have a higher end phone, I notivr Eloquence sounds tinny. I have, for reference, an iPhone 12Pro Max not. thinking of testing 16.5, but not sure. I just got a new apple watch, an SE second generation for my birthday, and am still learning it.

I like to use Alex since eloquence is not updated regularly and it is an old software. I like how it sound as well, but I would consider it software obsolete if it is not updated regularly. It hasn't included the latest pronunciations, for example SOS, and some english pronunciation for example particular. It pronounces Par ticuler

If people like it, I'm glad that Apple included in the iOS software. But it is not for me anymore.
