Hi all.
I recently updated my phone to the latest software Version. I’ve noticed that there’s a significant lag between when I touch the screen, and when voiceover items are announced. I use Samantha enhanced as my primary voice . Another thing I’ve noticed is that my phone is significantly warmer than it usually is, after using it for less than 10 minutes. At first I thought it was just Samantha being resource intensive, so I switched to eloquence. But that did not change anything. I’ve also performed a soft reset, but that hasn't resolved the issue. In addition to this, I ran a diagnostics test with Apple, and they said that the hardware was fine. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have any other suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Edit: I've reset all settings, and That seems to have fixed both issues.

Turn off and back on
You could try turning your phone completely off and then back on again. If this doesn’t work, you could try resetting your phone by deleting all content and settings and then setting it up again. I know this is a hassle, but I’ve done this in the past, and it has fixed various issues I’ve had.
Flashlight or screen brightness, making your phone warm?
This may sound really dumb and obvious, but did you check to see that the flashlight had not accidentally been turned on or that somehow your screen brightness caught mysteriously raised higher than you usually have it at? Those are things that I usually look for first, when my phone suddenly seems to be getting warmer than I think it should. Hope this helps and I hope you aren’t laughing out loud too, vociferous Lee! I have double checked
Hi. I always make sure that the brightness is turned all the way down, and last I checked, the flashlight was off.
I’ve tried both ways, but the issue is still not yet resolved
Hi. I restored my phone from a previous backup, but I’m still experiencing both the lagging and overheating issues. I’ve also spent the last couple of hours trying to downgrade to a previous version, but I keep getting error message after error message. I’m not sure where to go from here. Thanks for the suggestions, though
You need to turn off the Caption Panel
You need to turn off the Caption Panel, a bug that started in iOS 16.3.
Isn’t the caption panel off by default?
Hi. I checked my settings to make sure, and it appears that the caption panel is already turned off. Thanks though
No. Caption pannel
No. Go into VoiceOver Settings and scroll down to caption panel.
I'm also having an issue with IOS 16.3.1.
VoiceOver randomly crashes and comes back on. Someone suggested turning off my caption panel. mine's already off.
