Hello all:
I got an Iphone 7+ as a second phone for me, and i need to transfer my data from my 13 promax to it,
I tried more than 7 times with no luck, each time they are trying to connect after eraising the 7+ my pro max can not complete, i restarted both phones with no luck,
is there any other way that i can do that?
i can not use Icloud backup because my 7+ should have ios 16 which is not possible for sure,
so, tell me what can i do please
Thanks in advance

Are attempting this with device to device transfer?

If so, I'll give the steps below. I don't believe that both iPhones need to be running the same version of iOS, although it likely makes the process less likely to have a problem. Let us know how far through the process you get and details of any error messages that you receive.

Assuming that your iPhone 7 has been completely reset, follow these steps to set up your iPhone 7 using device to device transfer:

  1. Turn on your iPhone 7 and place it near your iPhone 13.
  2. Wait for the "Set up New iPhone" screen to appear on your iPhone 7, then double-tap "Continue."
  3. On your iPhone 13, double-tap "Continue" on the "Apps & Data" screen.
  4. Choose "Device to Device Transfer" and double-tap "Continue."
  5. Use your iPhone 13 to scan the animation on the new iPhone.
  6. Wait for the transfer process to complete. You may be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password on your iPhone 13.
  7. Continue the setup process on your iPhone 7 by following the on-screen instructions.

Once the transfer is complete, your iPhone 7 should have all the apps, contacts, photos, and other data from your iPhone 13.

Goodluck!

I have utilized the over the air transfer process for quite a while now. If your primary device is running iOS 16, your secondary device cannot run it, as it is obsolete now, therefore, since the software insists on having same iOS number, as far as I am aware, you are not able to make your secondary device match your primary anymore. I believe this is actually a common thing, not just for Apple products, but all Platforms. I'm sorry, but I don't think you can do it.

However, if the secondary device still has active apps, and prior data on it, it will still work for you. But I think, if I read your post correctly, you had factory reset that, so I don't think this is even an option. My old iPhone 6s still works just like this. But I had done the factory reset to default.

Hello david:
I did all steps you mentioned, however after i put my AppleID Password on my 7+, and i hit agree on the license agreemnet, i got the screen for choosing the way for transfering data, when i hit transfer from another Iphone, nothing happened, adn i got on my Iphone 13 "good luck with your newer Iphone"
So, i think that there is something happening in this stage.

the most annoying thing in this story is that i contacted apple via Chat, and the agent assure that this is possible to do so, but am sure that it is not,
I tried many many times with no luck

After i did a backup from Iphone 13 pro, when i need to restore to my iphone 7, i got the following:
Could not restore the iPhone “iPhone (3)” because the backup was not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored.
To restore this iPhone from this backup, you must first set up the iPhone as new and restore the software to the latest version.

for sure the Iphone 7 running IOS 15.7.3 and the 13pro max running 16.3
so, what can i do now?

I think you done everthing suggested. Make an appointment and see if someone in the apple store can help. Issues sometimes can be fix with their help in person.

As previously stated, I don't think this is gonna work, as there's no way to get your secondary device to the current OS version, thus, they will never talk to each other correctly. I do think that you're out of luck on this one my friend.
