Hello all. I hope you are having a great weekend.
I'm writing to see if anyone else has had this problem and/or has a potential solution since I can't find anything online anywhere about it and only one other person is having the same problem.
I'm a pianist, and regularly record audio for performances with virtual instruments.
However, I notice whenever I use apps such as Zoom and clubdeck, the audio from loopback is in mono and yes, I have checked the settings of the apps I'm using to ensure they are set to stereo.
The strange part is whenever I record the audio with amadeus or Logic, it comes out perfectly fine.
Has anyone else experienced this?
If so, have you been able to find a solution?
ANy help would be appreciated since I've been dealing with this since last November.

A couple of thoughts.
Do you have any stereo mics you could check with both apps? The issue could be with the apps themselves and not Loopback. That is the first thing I would check. Also, you probably know this, but you now have to turn on Original Sound every time in Zoom. Finally, make sure you or someone else is checking on Zoom with a computer and not a mobile device. Mobile devices cannot hear stereo on Zoom and can only do so on Clubhouse if the user is waring a plugin headset like EarPods. I use Loopback with both BTW and I do not have this issue.
I didn't realize iOs zoom couldn't do stereo?
Thank you for mentioning the Zoom thing. It has an original sound option, but it must not allow you to hear stereo.
I unfortunately do not have stereo mics to try at the moment, but I did use earpods with clubhouse and no matter what I try, it refuses to go into stereo.
Suppose the next step will be to have someone come on Zoom with me on their computer to see if it's a Clubdeck issue (which I suspect it is).
Thank you for the response.
Clubhouse and AirPods
If you are using AirPods, You have to be in the audience. Clubdeck must also be in music mode. The phone speaker will also let you hear stereo provided you are in the audience. Wired headphones will work regardless of whether you are in the audience or on stage.
I was using wired headphones.
I only use wired headphones on Clubhouse. I had clubdeck set to music mode, and It refuses to cooperate. I'm going to try zoom with another computer to see if the issue is specific to clubdeck rather than loopback.
Yep, that's right. it will…
Yep, that's right. it will broadcast online in mono. trhat doesn't seem to be a bug. happens in zoom, clubdeck, one stream live, etc.
lack of consistency
It's odd though because I only know one other person who is experiencing this, which is leading me to believe using an external microphone helps with this. I need to do more testing, but will keep the thread updated in case anyone else runs into this. I hope they fix this soon if it is the case.
I found the solution.
So, after much frustration, I found the solution to the issue. This problem is a clubdeck one since zoom sounded normal. I found the issue is when changing clubdeck's microphone to loopback causes it to get stuck in mono. However if settings the system's input to loopback in system settings, the issue seems to be fixed. I tested this several times and this seems to be the fix.
