Screen Recording audio is only being heard through the ear piece and not through the speaker.

Hi,

I am noticing that when I activate the screen recording option, the audio goes from the main speakers to the ear piece speaker. How can I get it to just come out of my speakers?

I typically use my iPad for screen recordings but I used my iPhone for the first time and I noticed this exact same issue. I don't know how to switch audio back so I can hear it better.

As mentioned previously, this is expected behavior on the iPhone when not using headphones.

To switch audio output, open the Control Center and switch output to the iPhone's speaker.

Unfortunately, this has to be done each time and after you have started the screen recording.

There are several threads on Applevis where people have posted work arounds.

Just found this thread after looking for help with this issue. I'm doing a usability testing study where they need to hear both my voice and VoiceOver. How do you switch the audio from the earpiece to the speaker? I can't figure out how to do this. I need to get this study done within the next day or two, so if someone can help me out quickly, that would be great and I would appreciate it.

I hope this will help you.
1. Double-tap and hold on the screen recording option in control centre.
2. Make sure mic is turned on.
3. Start the screen recording.
4. The sound will now come from the earpiece. In the control centre double-tap on airplay.
5. Choose speaker and the sound will now come from your speaker.
