Why can't I download email attachments from the mail app? This shouldn't be this hard...

Hi All,

Subject says it all. I cannot download single attachments. I've tried taking action on them, file > save attachments, dragging them... Nothing works! I can save attachments if I receive multiple attachments.

What obvious thing am I missing?

Are you saying that you open the message, go to the File menu, select Save Attachments, interact with the open dialog to specify the save location, and click save, but when you later go to that folder in Finder, the file attachment isn't there?

If I try that on a message with zero attachments, that's exactly how it behaves. But on a message with one attachment, the attached file saves to the folder as expected, so I guess I'm not able to reproduce this issue. But it does make me wonder if maybe you have the wrong message open, and there aren't any attachments to save.

Since upgrading to Ventura, I've had problems bringing up the context menu on an attachment. I have to fiddle around to get the menu to open, but once I do, I can save an attachment from there as well.
