VoiceOver muting while charging in car

Hi all,

When I plug my phone into my dad's car to charge, VoiceOver (and all sounds) mute themselves. I get this is supposed to happen, but I was wondering if there's a way on the phone itself to override the car and play sound through the phone's speakers. I've seen some posts on other sites that recommend plugging headphones in, but my recollection is that the same thing happens with any Bluetooth headphones you might be using. It would be nice if you didn't have to do something with the car to override this. This car ony has one port.

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi,
The way I get around this is as follows.
If you know audio is going to switch when you don't want it to:
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to access control center before you plug in your device.
2. Swipe right until you get to the play/track controls. There will be a button before "previous" which controls where your phones audio goes.
3. Double tap that button and swipe until you find the iPhone option.
4. Plug in your device.
5. Double tap the screen.
Your audio should now be back to your iPhone.
Hope this helps.
