Hi,
In another forum topic, my topic about restarting the iPhone, someone mentioned it's not as easy to clear cache anymore. How does one go about clearing cache on the iPhone 14? Also, how do you clean junk. I used to use an app called magic phone cleaner, which I purchased, but it won't install on newer devices, which is a real shame, because it was so good, it would reclaim heaps of space. So what's the best way to clear cache, clean stupid temp files and junk, etc. I'd prefer to do it all on the phone itself, but I guess I could hook the phone up to my mac, albeit grudgingly, because that's kind of a pain, but I'll take any way to keep my phone clean. :)

Restore
As far as I know, you can't do this. The operating system is supposed to manage that for you, but since there's no user-facing way to do it, I think your only option is to make a backup, restore your device to factory defaults, and restore that backup. If that doesn't work, you may have to restore to defaults and set it up as a new device. Then again, the problem will most likely come back at some point, because cache data seems to build up over time.
I would think
I always just restart my iPhone, which you can now do with SIRI. Always seemed to work for me, although I never actually examined my caches after restarting. Even so, my phone seemed faster after each restart. Speeding up your phone is your goal, right?
It's fast enough, but
But I listen to A LOT of mp3 audiobooks, and when I read them, I delete them, so I want to make sure they're gone for good when I hit delete, and not floating around somewhere as cache. So essentially I want to reclaim storage.
Cache in Apps
If an app is taking up an unusually large amount of storage and there's no way to free the space in the app, the only way I know of is to delete and install the app again.
Record a movie until you run…
Record a movie until you run out of space, triggering the cache deleter. Perfectly absurd, of course.
Or just accept that it's not intended that you should do it. Mother Apple forbids it! And in truth, it rarely actually represents a problem.
I miss the cash cleaners…
I miss the cash cleaners such as memmory disk which I use to use all the time. As suggested above if an app is taking up a huge amounts of space (facebook is notorious for this especially if you watch a lot of videos) then just delete and reinstall.
Magic Cleaner.
I still have the Magic Cleaner app. Although I forget to use it to clean junk.
