Hello al-
how do I overdub in amadeus pro? here's the scenario:
I want to add a harmony vocal over top of a track I have recorded in amadeus pro so it has to play at the same time.
any help would be much appreciated. Thanks-
Mara.

assuming both
If both tracks last the exact same time length and are in sink with each other, i'm assuming this is the case, by the way; go to the start of the project, I do this via comand a to select all, to insure i'm at the exact start of the project. Then, you have two ways of doing what you want.
1. You can, paste over, command shift v or,
2. You can, paste to new track, command option v.
The second option is what i'd recommend as it give you control over both tracks.
so can I overdub it in real time?
if I just want to have two tracks sounding together in unison... can I overdub the second while the first one plays? no?
Thanks-
Yes you can
If you mean pasting the second track as the first one plays, you should be able to, just make sure the track will be placed at the start of the project.
What I mean is can I sing…
What I mean is can I sing over top of the first track?
you should be able to
You should be able to. Honestly I haven't used amadeus in a couple of years, moved on to reaper, but if memory serves, this should be possible yes.
Okay
Thanks- maybe somebody can tell us how? BTW, is reaper accessible on Mac OS?
Yes it is
Reaper is accessible on the Mac with OSARA.
Yes, reaper is accessible
I mean in amadeus your missing a lot. I.e: cant use vertual instruments, most plug ins, if not all, are not accessible. I mean, you've only got the presets but that's it. You cannot modify any parameters or anything, save a few plug ins but with most this is the case at in amadeus. I love amadeus but I switched to reaper because I needed a better more versital daw.
I don't remember how to do what your trying to do in real time as the first track is playing. If you just paste it should work, if the insertion point doesn't follow playback as its playing back. Alternatively you could just go to the begining of the file, paste the vocal part into a new track and then hit play, and do what modifications you need to do.
