hi all, I have just upgraded to an iphone 13 pro and am running the latest public beta of ios 16.1 when i turn on door detection it is crashing the magnifier, is this a known issue and a bug that i should report?

I'm not able to reproduce this crashing on my iPhone 14 Pro running the iOS 16.1 RC, but I would encourage you to file a report as so many of the accessibility bugs hit only a subset of users. Apple can then at least investigate what specific about your configuration or use case is causing the crash.
