Apple today announced the launch of the iPad 10, featuring a new all-screen design.
The new iPad offers a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and is powered by the A14 Bionic chip, which according to Apple “delivers even faster performance with incredible power efficiency for demanding tasks while still providing all-day battery life.”
The powerful A14 Bionic chip comes to iPad, delivering a 20 percent increase in CPU and 10 percent improvement in graphics over the previous generation. This makes the new iPad up to 5x faster than the best-selling Android tablet, and for users looking to upgrade from a device like iPad (7th generation), they will see up to 3x improvement in overall performance with the new iPad. Advanced machine learning functions are powered by a 16-core Neural Engine in A14 Bionic — offering double the number of cores of A13 — boosting machine learning capabilities by up to 80 percent.
Other key features include:
- Available in 4 colors — blue, pink, yellow, and silver.
- Touch ID moves to the top button.
- An Ultra Wide front camera located along the landscape edge of the iPad with a 12MP sensor, 122-degree field of view, and support for Center Stage.
- An an updated 12MP back camera that delivers high-resolution photos and detailed 4K video with support for 240-fps slo-mo.
- A USB-C port.
- Wi-Fi 6 support which Apple says results in connections being 30 percent faster on the new iPad than the 802.11ac Wi-Fi supported on the previous generation.
- Cellular models feature superfast 5G support.
Designed specifically for the new iPad, Apple is offering an all-new Magic Keyboard Folio that features a click-anywhere trackpad and a versatile two-piece design:
The new Magic Keyboard Folio, designed for the new iPad, delivers an incredible typing experience with full-size keys, 1 mm of travel, and responsive feel. For the first time, iPad will have a keyboard with a large trackpad and support for a click-anywhere experience and Multi-Touch gestures, which makes scrolling, swiping, pinching, and moving the cursor even more seamless. The new 14-key function row allows for easy access to shortcuts and everyday tasks, like adjusting the volume or display brightness. The highly configurable and versatile two-piece design includes a detachable keyboard and a protective back cover that attaches magnetically to iPad. The keyboard magnetically attaches to the Smart Connector on the edge of iPad, which provides power and data. This means the keyboard never needs to be charged or paired, and users can easily fold the keyboard behind iPad or detach it entirely. The back cover has an adjustable stand for even more flexibility when playing games, watching video, and more.
The new iPad is available to order starting today, with availability in stores beginning Wednesday, October 26. Wi-Fi models of the new iPad are available with a starting price of US$449), and Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at US$599.
Apple today also announced a spec-bump update to the iPad Pro, which is now powered by the M2 chip.

Magic Keyboard my foot
What is the point of having one if does not work well with VO. My Apple Smart Keyboard that is 140$ is nice when it works. Key word here is work.
Pricing
This level entry iPad is well overpriced and with everything else this year, Apple are screwing us in the UK over. I'm sticking with my 2020 iPad Air for now.
Ouch
That's a huge price jump, plus only First-gen pencil support via a dongle. I get the feeling it exists solely to get customers to jump to the iPad Air.
Ipad-OS. Any word?
Was there any word on Ipad-OS. 16 and when it will be released, and whether it will be supported on the Ipad 7th generation? I couldn't tell from the article. I hope it comes out soon. I can't wait to play with all the cool new goodies the rest of you have. lol :-) Although, I'm VERY nervous about this one also. Because this is the first major release upgrade with a Braille display. There's a difference between going from 15 to another version of 15, and going from 15 to 16 when a Braille display is involved, in my opinion. Although maybe that's just me because I've only had it for almost a year now, and, I'm still figuring it out! lol :-)
Re: iPadOS, any word?
Apple confirmed that the next round of OS releases will be on 24 October.
What’s the storage options?
I hope it’s a lot more than 128 gb for that price.
Re: link Ipad-OS. Any word?
Comes out on the 24th and runs on iPad fifth end up.
thanks every one
Thank you every one for the Ipad-OS updates/news. I'll probably be posting here in the next couple days about possible bugs with braille displays.
